We all got it wrong, apparently what makes a car go fast isn't horsepower or torque, it ain't light weight either. From driving on the hwy here in Dallas area, I realized that drivers who drive:
Nissan Altima Mazda 3 Any red coupe car Most yellow cars A car that has more than one exhaust pipe All believe that their car is soo freaken fast they tailgait me when I'm driving 80MPH! I try my best to control myself but I have to say, if they are behind me in one of those C shapped hwy exits, I take it so fast for 2 reasons, cause I really enjoy that and to just shake them back into reality when I put like half a mile between me and them.

My sister-in-law( she's in her 40's) ,who really isn't into cars, just randomly bought a new retina burning yellow Ford Focus ST. When she asked me what I thought , I just said" cool little car,,,but get ready for EVERY kid to want to race you with that color"

I just let them pass... I had some guy in his Dodge Neon come off an offramp in VA where I was living and decided he wanted to show off. He looked over, saw me, pointed at me, then floored it. I just kept going my normal speed. I guess he thought I wasn't going to let him get away with that. Well, the cop in the gas station ahead took care of that for me. When I passed him on the shoulder with the po-po behind him, I slowed down so he could see my face laughing at him for being careless...
There could be a cop around any corner waiting to catch you. Let the cops catch them instead of you.

When driving on the highway, I generally try to stay within my "comfort zone" while cruzin'. If someone wants to get by that much, I just pull over and let them go. It sometimes bothers me, but life's too short to let every a**hole get to you. If it's not a kid in a rice burner it's a momma in a HUGE suv on her cell phone with two kids in the back - now that's scarey!!

No point in wasting gas and your time for people that want to drive reckless. Just let them pass and let the law handle it. It is better to drive safe then be sorry at the end. Life is to short and should not be wasted on some D-bag.

Dallas is full of asshats...when I had my 03 TL I rarely ever experienced aggressive driving but as soon as I got the M3 and put an exhaust on it, I started getting Mustangs trying to goad me into races and rice boxes driving close enough to read my VIN.

i hate tailgaters. i think i'm one too unfortunately but i try to remind myself i'm not on a racetrack all the time. i get mixed results.
tailgating is not localized to US i found though. germans love doing it too. my particular pet peeve is passing slower traffic on unlimited sections of autobahn and then when i do get to a reduced speed zone i always get at least one car on my bumper. i move over to let him go by and then when the speed limit is removed i end up having to wait to pass him again. maybe i'm a bit biased, but its 90% a driver in a black audi wagon too. Luis, what you doing Thanksgiving weekend? want to go to the ring? GP track is open! forecast is sunny and 6C

In USA tailgating means "I want to race you!". In Europe means move your slow ass to the right lane or floor it because I have to go!!! The EU law says that the left lane is for passing NOT FOR CRUISING.

how do nsx's do on the track? i hear they can be unforgiving when you're driving them near their limits.

a few NSX's give walls a kiss. Expensive mistakes! Set up properly they're great. JDM type R, S & S- Zero models were best. Lot's of school instructors were from local BMW clubs & very helpful Last edited by Hothonda; 11-15-2012 at 01:48 PM.. |
