Félicitations!!
No, the car does not have as much of the "torque" feeling, even after the break-in (I still regularly drive our 335i), but it's deceptively fast, extremely well balanced and it's an M3 - case closed. Not too fond of the wrap either, but very nice 2012 otherwise.

your first mod: UNWRAP the hood/trunk! It makes the car look so rice its not even funny. Congrats on the trade though! not sure if you exactly upgraded, as 1M's are pretty much up to par with M3's IMO lol but its cool that you've gotten to own both!

interior wise, the m3 is 200% better . And the sound system ( extremely important to me) sounds way better in this one .

Félicitation pour ton nouvel achat!
Petit conseil, si tu veux apprecier a 100% ta nouvelle machine, mets toi un exhaust un peu plus bruyant, ca fait toute la différenece! |

Buying a 3000$ slip on exhaust for an extra ( advertised ) 10 hp to me is rice. Powdercoating rims black like 80% of cars nowadays is rice.... Exceedingly bright and blingy angel eyes=RICE-A-RONI !!!! but anyhow.....

apart from having similar performance as the M3 on certain tracks, everything in the 1M(except the M3 parts) is a downgrade, the M3 has more equipment, more interior space, better materials, better seats, and the last but not the least, a better and more powerfull engine! I'm pretty sure he upgraded! |

Having driven the 1M vs the M3 MT, the 1M is punchier (post some minor turbo lag) but the clutch is really notchy and less smooth to engage vs the M3. I thought it might have just been me given I'm so used to my car, but at the M School, everyone in my group (none of whom owned any modern BMWs) universally felt that the 1M clutch felt rough, difficult to engage, rev matching was not easy, 1st/2nd gear torque control with TC off was an issue. Probably takes some getting used to like anything else.

The roof is wrapped or is actual CF. Do you have a moonroof?

The 1m may perform...but its a squirt.
The m3 is a gentleman's car...and i'm convinced the e9x will become the 993 of m3's. I am tempted to trade my 08 sedan for a new coupe before production ends. I love the car. |

it must be hard to move on from the 1M, it is also one of the unique bmw M models ever made.
but you won't ever regret about this switch, the E9X M3 has so much more enjoy your ride
