Comparing this FWD Bavarian Jetta to an E30 is insulting, and I say this as someone with an E30 in the garage.

I saw one in the flesh last week. I wouldn't get it frankly. Step up to a 320i or bust.

I'm actually surprised they haven't brought this to the states yet given how the CLA and A3 have been around for several years now. I suppose they are content with how many 320 Sensatec lease specials they are pushing.

Yes it's "awesome" like a delayed diagnosis of gonorrhea.

It's a really good looking car. BMW could have had a modern E46 on its hands had they gone with a RWD option. But, sadly we know they would/will not do that.

As soon as the new car is launched early next year. We will eventually see a new Sedan model based on the new Sporthatch intended for a global audience.
The new 1er Sporthatch is coming along nicely. Design is nothing but stunning, and purely individual in a highly contested segment.
Style is taut with crisp lines as per new BMW norm. Big changes inside, quality is leaps forward as is dash layout. Rear passenger space is far improved.

Honestly even though FWD cars may have more interior space, I always find RWD cars far more comfortable in their seating position for my frame. I say this as a person that has driven small fwd and small rwd cars. Aside from all the other benefits one gets from a RWD platform that appeal to myself.
