Another street race gone bad

Can you tell what kind of car this was?

It WAS a Lotus Elise. Guy was racing down a wide, winding street about a mile from my house. I can't tell you how many hundreds of times I've driven this exact route. The news stories haven't all picked it up yet, but he was racing a white volvo and lost control. Transected his aorta (that's bad. he died instantly), police are looking for the white volvo. I've taken this route well over the speed limit, it's not a particularly difficult s-curve at 50. I can't imagine what he was doing. It's a bit off-camber.

Transection is never good. Maybe he should have been driving the Volvo. Poor tree.

Tree is still standing fine. Just a few limbs scratched up.

Waste of a perfectly good tree. And Lotus.

It split the passenger cabin right down the middle. They aren't meant for trees. Wall of a race track maybe, but not trees. Guy was 25.

Why would someone in a Lotus even bother with a Volvo? Who in a Volvo would think they can take a Lotus?

actually, nowdays there are few volvos in the lineup that is worth picking on for a little fun.
