AJM vs. Mode Carbon GTS Front Lip

I was almost dead set on Mode Carbon, but the AJM front lip looks nearly the same for less than half the price. Looks like the main difference is the weave pattern. I was thinking since the CF roof is 1x1 maybe it would be best to get the AJM to match it anyway, but the photos of the Mode Carbon just look more appealing.

Anyone have experience of seeing them both in person?

I've been looking at AJM myself. It's nice and rounded on the sides like mode carbon. Some of the other GTS style lips out there are square on the side edge which I'm not fond of.

The pics of it I have seen look great. A lip is bound to get dinged up or destroyed overtime. Even if there is fitment issue with AJM, I would rather have a 300 dollar lip taking the beating as my car is a daily driver compared to those lips that are 800 to 1,000.

This is a friend on IG with the AJM lip.

you would be shocked how much more of a beating the Mode Carbon lip can take VS the AJM or other china manufactured lips.

Thanks for the replies gents, although both of you have have made me question what I want to do even more LOL.

Let's see if anyone else chimes in...

I'm leaning towards AJM in case I don't like how my car looks with it. Gonna be a sort of guess and check.

Is the AJM vs Mode Carbon fitment a real difference? That's a big point for me as well...

I have installed both, and honeslty i would say they both take the same amount of effort to get them to fit to my standards. The Mode does fit better, but marginally.

There is a 3rd option. RW carbon has a 1x1 GTS lip too. I'm thinking about getting theirs since they have a good track record and customer service for members of this forum. Price is also very good. I looked into AJM and was initially turned away by a few threads mentioning poor customer service.

I hate to spread more hearsay but you guys can search the forums and and research yourself.

Here's my one and only so far for 2 years now (one of their earliest batches), 1x1 weave and wrapped in expel. Honestly fitment is 6.5/10, but I had a recent bumper respray and my guy made it fit even better. For 250-300, it does it's job hella well. More comfortable beating the shit out of it than a 1k lip. If this one goes, I'll be hitting AJM up again for sure.

Edit: If you wanna be a big baller tho, get that OEM GTS Lip in classified for 4k. lol.

Looks great. You said going with AJM again if needed. Assuming you have AJM on currently?

Yea, this is the only lip I've owned and still have on the car. I just meant if this one disintegrate for any reason, I'll get another AJM lip.

Almost all carbon lips are from china, just rebranded.

You can also get the exact replica from Alpha-N of a GTS lip. IND is the sole distributor of them so you need to email them for a price. Expect the price of customs and IND profits to add up a bit here too.

Your car was the reason I brought this conversation up. It looks like what I am going for and it's much cheaper.

I drive my car. I'm very careful with potholes and driveways, etc., but it WILL get scraped now and again. Another reason I think a cheaper lip is the better choice.

I realized I made a mistake in my initial post in that the Mode Carbon lip is 1x1 weave, and the AJM is a 2x2.

That being said, thanks to luckyse7en I will probably be going with RW Carbon. I think the 1x1 weave matching the roof will look great. The price is about half of Mode Carbon's, and the customer support was great too.

I do plan on using Mode Carbon for my AW high kick carbon fiber spoiler. I think it will be cool to have a lightweight body color spoiler. I told myself I wouldn't get a carbon fiber spoiler on AW, just doesn't look good to me and it's a little overplayed. Pleased that Mode can fit my needs.

Thanks again all!

I went with the GTS1 lip from POM and it lined up on the first try. Just added the double sided tape and screwed it in. Quality was great for the price. I had the AJM and really had to work to get it flush.

Do you have details on "how" they made it fit better? Additional bolts? Re-aligned tape? Looking for any tips for better fitment. I mean $320 shipped, come on - that's insanely cheap for the style.

I'm not sure exactly what he did, I could just tell everything was spaced more evenly and the gaps were closed better than when I installed it.
