New Alcantara Interior

The novillo leather of my 2009 Dakar Edition was starting to show wear so I decided to bite the bullet and get the entire interior re-done in nappa and alcantara. Entire dash was removed and rewrapped in leather + alcantara.

Took the opportunity to fix many of the creaks and rattles in the cabin. She feels like a new car now!

Pics from phone so quality may not be great. Enjoy!

Omg. This is awesome. There are a couple things I don't love but for the most part it's really cool.

Question- the dashboard cover... is the passenger side airbag still going to work as intended?

Yes that's the first thing I asked the leather guy. They have a way to make sure the airbag deploys properly.

Beautiful interior mate. Not to prod, but I'm curious about the cost simply to see if it's a feasible project to consider down the road.

I live in Malaysia so the cost will be drastically different than where you are. Paid over usd6k for this, but I used one of the best in the business. Can probably get it done at a cheaper shop for much less but I didn't wanna risk the quality of work.

Very nice. Due to labor cost I'd expect it to be 3x the cost in the USA

Surprised that you didn't go with this style of floor mat to keep in line with the the style of rest of the car. Either way, it looks good.

Car's my daily and those mats actually don't hold dirt very well. So stuck with normal carpet mats.

Looks great.

Is that an avin unit or an nbt retrofit?

It's an Android unit identical to what AVIN sells, but I got it directly from China.

I have a valved exhaust. I added a button to manually open/close the valve cos the remote control module was broken. The button is a Double Apex exhaust toggle button, meant for VW Golf.

the wheel no doubt looks alcantara wrapped, but the trim and horn section looks flocked. Flocking is just a different method.

Mine is definitely alcantara. You can feel the fabric. Downside is that you need more pressure to activate the horn, due to the thickness of the alcantara.
