Tips for applying Texas registration sticker?

Hi all, I recently relocated to Texas from Illinois. Now that my car has been registered here and has plates, I need to put the registration sticker in the window.

Can anyone share any tips to make sure it's positioned right, straight, and is the least obtrusive to my view? I was going to just put some blue painters tape on the outside of the windshield once I measure it out, but wasn't sure if there's some best practices here.

Thanks in advance!

Get a piece of clear vinyl ( https://www.amazon.com/Grafix-9-Inch...gateway&sr=8-3 )

Stick it to the vinyl, cut to shape, & then can reposition as much as you want. Also works well with tinted windshields - sticker won't but stuck on when time to renew so won't screw up the tint when removing.

I just shove mine in the lower left corner of my windshield and bend the top corner of the sticker so I can remove it easily the following year.

Do you guys align it to the side or bottom of the windshield?

Honestly, these stickers are so stupid. I don't know why they can't just use a license plate sticker like other states do.

Bottom left corner if you're in the drivers seat. High enough so you can remove it later, but low enough so it's out of view.

Where the bottom sticker is in this photo (this was when we had to have TWO stickers)

They don't use the sicker they use the license plate when running tags from what I have been told from a friend. Do you also have a front plate? I have 4 cars non with the front plate and have not been pulled over and I live in Frisco.

I just slapped it in there on my wife's X3... My cars are licensed in NM. No sticker on the windshield, just a cool chili pepper license plate.

Texas, it's like a whole 'nother country.

I make mine low enough to cover the bottom part of the blue sticker with the blacked out area on the windshield. The white portion with all of the info remains clearly visible. Also, I try to go with the flow of the windshield vs making the sticker perfectly horizontal or aligned with side of windshield.

We no longer have license plate stickers for 2 reasons:
1) They're easy to take. They used to recommend taking a razor blade to the stickers and make several slices across them to that if someone tried to take it, they'd have to try and take a bunch of little pieces.
2) They're easy to fake. I knew someone years ago that made his own tags for his car, which had plates from CA. Did it for quite a few years IIRC, until he sold the car.

That seems so weird to me because many other states have been using stickers for decades. The Illinois stickers, for example, already had the crosshatching so they get destroyed when you try to remove them.

Y'all ain't from around here, are ya?

Because Texas. It's best not to question things too closely down here. For instance, I'm pretty sure it's illegal to have your hands at 9-3 or 10-2 on the steering wheel. Left hand at 1 o'clock or you go straight to jail.

This... I haven't had a registration sticker on my 340 since I bought it. No cop gives about registration as long as you can prove it is registered.
