Gloss Black or Black Chrome Kidney Grills?

Ok looking to get black kidney grills and black side gills for my Interlagos Blue M3. I keep seeing 'black chrome' and gloss black as options. Was wondering what people thought of these two compared to each other on this color? If anyone has a picture comparing the two that would help too.

I am also going to get side gills and they will likely be black chrome because i can't find gloss black gills anywhere, only matte black, unless I'm missing something?

Eventually I will finish it off with black exhaust tips and the black ZCP wheels or I'll paint my ZCP wheels later.

The only OEM option is the black chrome, that's what I'd go with.

You can get both items from a board sponsor here:

or here:

Ah, I was looking on http://www.bmwpartspros.com/partloca...subcat2=178446

bmw parts pros website and there is
BMW Performance Black Kidney Grille - states is gloss black
Kidney Grill M3 Edition - Black/Chrome

Didn't know which was OEM thought both were available. Is the black chrome the one that comes on the frozens and lime rock?

The BMW Performance Grilles are for the 3-series -- only the M3 edition applies to our cars.

Saw that on the BMW site after putting in my model info and it confuses me.

Yeah, that is strange -- then again, 'black chrome' and 'gloss black' likely describe almost the identical look anyway. Best way to be sure is to send your VIN to Tischer (getbmwparts) / STBMW (bmwpartspros) on the board here and they'll get you the correct part numbers.

The pre-lci E92 non-M3 has the same kidney grille as all the M3's. So yes there are the OEM options of either the black chrome "M3 Edition" or gloss black "Performance"

IMO both are much better than matte. I used to have matte black and it looked terrible and cheap in bright sunlight.

I now have the black chrome in my 328 and love it. They have a cool mirror effect due to the chrome, and the color is more like a dark liquid mirror charcoal. It's pretty awesome. That aspect adds a nice touch compared to plain old gloss black.

I ordered mine from bmwpartspros I think they have the best price.

I think stock chrome looks great on the blues and reds. I vote stock on Interlagos.

My Dakar Edition M3 came with Black Chome trim. The chrome peels after a while. I changed everything to gloss black.

I think black chrome looks like metal and gloss black looks like plastic, so black chrome looks more high-end to me while gloss black looks a little cheap. Both look better than stock chrome on any color though IMO. I'm just not a fan of chrome on anything other than exhaust tips and emblems.
