For new leather, what is recommended? I know I don't have a M3 but lol... I will be getting Leather in my GTI. Should I buy something like Leatherique for new leather or what?

Thanks for the tips.

I've been happy over the years with Lexol but really haven't tried many other products.

I use Zaino leather cleaner and then the conditioner. It works great and smells awesome, just like real leather

I've been using optimum protectant plus with good results. just got HD total and protect from high definition car care when they had a 40% off sale recently. haven't tried it yet, but looks promising from results shown on autopia. leatherique is too much work and takes too damn long.

I'm using Leather Masters now - I've only been using it for a few months, but so far, I love it.

I've always used Spinneybeck. Easy to use. You can get it from leatherz.com

I just used the lexol cleaner and conditioner. After following the instructions, the seat I used it on feels dryer than the seat i didn't even touch. Am I doing it wrong?

Agree. I used to use Lexol all the time on my G35 which had more durable but less soft leather...but I'm switching now. The cleaner leaves streaks and the conditioner doesn't seem to be keeping the dryness from coming back. It seems I need to condition almost weekly now, which is way too often IMO.

I just now noticed the labels on the two Lexol products also specify that it's not recommended for very soft leather and as you all know, the M3 leather is pretty soft.

I'd go with Leatherique but don't really have the time to spend the time so I'll probably try Leather Masters or Zaino.
