Engine Bay

Quick check. On the E92 M3, in the engine bay right next to the cabin filter cover to the outside there is a small well or dip. In there is a small plastic basket that is loose and not secured. Is there a cover missing in this area?

Thanks,
Veratyr

Nope, basket is loose so you can remove it and shake out the debris. Its on both sides.

+2.that's a good thing to do every so often.even though the car is garaged,it usually has debris there when i check it.my guess is that that's where outside air gets pulled into the cabin.

no they're the drain from the drip rails. Run a hose over the car and you'll see; the idea is not to plug em up where they're not accesible to clean

Any of you notice the outer side of each cabin filter is open underneath and you can see / feel the filter?

the driver's side one doubles as a valet ticket waste basket. I clean mine out every car wash.

I used to clean it up every couple weeks. Nice and easy to access.
