Schroth Quick Fit Pro
Anyone have a review on these?
Looks like the only possible option on the OEM seats. Once you upgrade power, tires, braking, its really hard to keep your a$$ in the seat and also very fatiguing holding your body in during cornering. Clubs in my area seem to allow them, although I've seen a lot for sale on the board here, so I'm wondering if there's maybe a problem with them. The pro's work with HANS which is a nice benefit. Thanks! |

I love it - one of the best mods I've done. Makes driving so much more relaxing when you're not bracing all the time.
I've combined the quick fit pro with the Simpson FIA hybrid device for max safety |

I've had my set for 4 years, so they are getting close to their end of life. You need to watch which clubs allow them. PCA (just ran with them last weekend) has been fine with 4 point system, BMWCCA does not. Sometimes it's track specific too.
They are expensive but they do hold you down and it's super easy to install and remove. |

Massive improvement from factory 3-point belts. But due to leather seats and lack of side bolster adjustment, I still slide around a little in my seat and have to brace myself a little using dead pedal. I use mine with HANS if on track and will continue using after I get HALO seats.

my girlfriend brought this up to me the other day. she wants me to get more safety stuff, and i'm definitely not opposed to it... i have some research to do because i know there is a hierarchy of things to buy in order for everything to work together as designed.
i told her, "the real way to do it is to run a half-cage with a rear seat delete and run harnesses with that and proper seats." she shrugged her shoulders and said, "well, you don't really use the back seat anyways, and its for safety."

Sounds like HANS/Hybrid plus either OEM or BMW performance seats with the airbag and QFP probably the safest you gonna get before going full retard. Might get one of those fire extinguisher mounts though for the passengers seat. Didn't like hearing about that dude that cooked his M3 because he went off in the grass and stayed there too long. |

I'm not a fan of the half cages, especially if they are bolted in. The OEM locations are strength tested...don't think where ever those pre-fabbed bars are mounted are.

I think it depends, mine has plates welded in and then cage welded also. Definitely strong enough to handle the harness. Do wish had gone full cage to start.

My opinion, I think up to fixed backs, harness (4-6pt) and HANS is OK before going with a cage. Yeah, the fixed back seat won't fold and I may be supporting the car with my head in a rollover...but I also don't want my seat to break and then have my upper body flop around. Beyond that, cage with at least a forward hoop.

maybe it secures to better places but also acts as a rear suspension brace?

What scares me is what if you backwards into a wall and the bar gets pushed forward? Or what if you flip rear first and the bar gets pushed forward. The bolts could rip right through the sheet metal. I would like to see a forward hoop but then it becomes a track car. My personal philosophy is to keep the driver planted to maintain better control of the car to reduce the likelihood of an accident.
