Just to the bumper. We are working on chassis mounted splitter this fall.

I'm contemplating aero setups but in the midst of a huge off I'd rather lose a lip vs potentiallly breaking something if chassis mounted. Or would that just cause a broken lip only as well?

I think with a proper splitter that was really sturdy it can take the abuse.

For $199 for the splitter that is pretty good. You have to fab your own front mounting as they don't make one and as they note the OEM oil lines ( not really a problem for me anymore) cause an issue with making a frame rail mount. I have a local fab shop that is going to make a full custom front lip and diffuser during the off season (dec-feb)

hard motorsport stuff is cool, but do use some caution as they mostly make stuff for non-M cars. i bought their chassis mount splitter brackets before they had the little asterisk about the oil lines. i didn't even mock them up because my mechanic had previous experience with them and the oil lines are in the way.
obviously, op is in a different situation now.

New Bimmerworld dive planes installed.
We also have the Carbon whiskers and with running some technical tracks and some more wide open tracks we wanted to make it interchangeable. So using nutserts we can now swap between the two. That's what the silver dots are for those who are wondering.

Okay.....considering E85/Blend. Don't want to supercharge for extra heat and weight. But E85 seems like the next logical step. Any input.

It's also more susceptible to water absorption when exposed to air, though I imagine I'd burn it all up by the end of a track weekend anyway. Cooling properties are a big plus in addition to the added power. I am still interested and would enjoy more discussion on this!

Has been working great for me, when you run out or cant find a e85 station with the AFD kit you can just put 93 in with no problems at all. but you can always fill some tanks with e85 if interested I have several pics of install and everything. Its a great kit and just ordered a tune with BPM. Just waiting for the cable to come in Monday. Also normally run through 1/2 tank during a 20min session. No way I can go boosted here in Texas, things would just start melting.

I've ran e85 in my evo years ago. It's like 8 mpg on the street so on track I can't imagine how low it would be lol.
I used to grab 30 gallons at a time.

I do not but have been getting cooler oil temps in this 100+ degree weather we have been having lately. Might be going to a dyno day next month just to see what it does put down, but that would be with tune, catless, e85. Also at the stations around here I have been getting E68, there is a app to read e85 level with the kit. BPM said they hit 400hp dyno. On the 9th im going to be at a track day so it will be my second time and now found a station that is close 15min away. Last day I went with at full tank and filled up with 93 when it got down to 1/4. The switch between has no issues and vehicle will run with no issues at all or hiccups.

Big shout out to Advanced Fuel Dynamics for their E85 kit. Will be on the car next week and will get it on the dyno ASAP!

I already have an aggressive tune on the car. And after talking to AFD doesn't seem needed to retune the car as the benefits will adjust with the fuel.

Car getting dyno'd and possible tune for the E85 tomorrow.
Also getting tech for NASA for the Time Attack in December at Road Atlanta. Also have the Hard Motorsports Splitter with their frame mounts on the way. Can't wait for this upgrade! Gotta get some more front downforce to be ready for the TT crowd
