The sound of the "competition"
Have a listen of the new Lexus ISF.
The car has no LSD though. "We are a little disappointed that the IS-F does not come with a manual transmission variant and does not have a mechanical limited slip differential ( LSD) to evenly distribute the newfound 5.0L V8 power." http://www.clublexus.com/index.php?o...455&Itemid=183 |

God help me here I listen to mental case here and I had to run to the rest room as I could not stop myself from
I think he needs new glasses, as that thing is so ugly and so bland ... god help us finance new spectacle or eye surgery for this moron. As if you can't tell from their website that he just ooouuuzzz's over Lexus. Competition is good and when someone gets it right, it's good to pay homage to that and salute their success. But this Beluga, Slabsided RICE mobile???? |

They could have put a DSG tranny. I am sure the engineers wanted one but somebody highly up at Lexus wants all of their lux cars to be automatics.
No-LSD puts the ISF squarely up against the properly tuned 335i (not the mis-tuned 335i that BMW is selling right now). Come to think of it, if BMW puts out the 335i-ZHP with the right tune in 2008, these two cars will cost about the same. |

LMAO
Lexus dropped an "IS-F bomb" on Munich
"I am just a son-of-a-gun" Then he closes with a comparison in looks to BMW and MB. This guy is even lamer than the car. No LSD, automatic slushbox. I am sure BMW is shaking in their shoes. |

I don't like it
Seems like the firewall area (bottom of the windshield) is too high. I'll have to wait to look at it in person to give my final opinion of it's looks, although it doesn't matter, I'm not getting off the M3 wait list at my dealer.

That V8 sounds awesome. It's going to be fun choosing between the M3, the C63 and this (somewhat homely looking) IS-F. The M3 is the one I'm waiting for, with deposit down, but I'm certainly not set on it. Can't wait to see/hear the M3 and C63!!

Good!
So, you know... please replace those spectacle or please stop spreading the crap propaganda of mediocre engineers suffering from lack or creativity. Cheers to the Beluga; love the animal ... but a car that looks like one Understand the practicality .. but the car??? What is that on the side? A running board?? Wow, amazing, A Performance car that's been riced from the factory I guess they were trying to copy the side scoop from spying on Nissan, but f'cked it up and turned it into a running board +Let's not forget the pipes inspiration Last edited by Norsk; 01-22-2007 at 08:18 PM.. |

I was thinking about this car the other day.
Regardless of how you feel about it, you know it will kick @ss. My question is, who will buy it? BMW M, MBZ AMG, Audi S/RS; all have very loyal followings. With all three makers recently or scheduled to release great new cars, I doubt any loyalist will be persuaded to go Japanese. Add to that are they only offering the car in auto? I guess the Infiniti G crowd and or Nissan Skyline crowd may opt for this, but I just question who Lexus sees is the buyer for this car |

There isn't much available in sport-lux at the $50K mark and there will not be anything for at least the next 2-3 years. Lexus may just be trying to create a new segment right inbetween the $35-$40K cars and the $65-$70K cars. I am sure there will be takers despite the looks of this car. Oh, and the Nissan Skyline GTR belongs in a whole different segment. That's a real sports car with balls-to-the-wall performance and no lux goodies at all. |

But of course; the BMW 335i and Audi S4 are very good looking cars with very good perfomance numbers for their category; the G35 and IS350 are nice looking cars with nice performance. I think that a lot of people wanting a little more performance will save the money and get a XEDE for their 335i + other sweet mods and upgrade available to their precise taste. Quote:
It was a nice attempt by Lexus and as I always say, "I support Competition", as it results in better producs and better value for the consumer. But actually having this "F" product out there also re-enforces the choice that we may make in Buying the New E92 M3 (God the Spyshot look hot ), RS4 (love the damn thing - sweet ride), C63AMG (the new C-Klass AMG looks good, just the interior is a bit ). I want all three in my stable... the IS-F can stay in the Pig Pen . Let me say it again, the only place this car is creating a new segment is "right in between" two ass cheeks. Yeah, we knew that ... the comment was about them copying the side vent of the new upcoming Nissan Skyline GTR; which by the way the previous gen also looked liked a soupped up soapbox (like the 80' & 90's Mustang). |
