I think I kind of like the external antenna, probably better for signal strength, distance shouldn't matter though, unless you are testing it outside the car.

Now if the mic had changed and somehow used the OEM mic without a harness, I'd be a little tempted to switch it.

Yeah this one doesn't show any of the harnesses so might be worth someone asking them what mic it uses.

I'd even consider ripping and replacing if it ran the OEM mic and the voice worked well. Hmm.

Just spoke to Mr12Volt via Whatsapp. He said there is no reason to change from P2000 to the P2000 Light series. The only difference is the internal antenna, single sided cable point and video in option removed. Functionality and mic is the same.

They also said bass issue is isolated to very few but have no data to confirm if its a carplay issue or integration/setup one.

question on the coding. I do not have the cd changer. I looked through bimmercode and found this:
3000 HMI>
CDMM_PERSONALRADIO>
AKTIV
NICHT_AKTIV (CURRENTLY CHECKED)
CUSTOM VALUE...

Do I just change the nicht_aktiv to aktiv? assuming that is not active and active...

My e60 M5 did not come with CD changer either but I believe this is the code you have to change with bimmercode:

Headunit -> Expert Mode -> 3000 HMI
Find CDMM_CHANGER_3 option and change it to mp3_cdc
CODE -> START CODING

I didn't need to do any coding to get mine working initially.

I did however code out the SVS idrive function to get Siri going over the steering wheel button.

Anyone able to get the steering wheel call answer/hang up button working for wireless CarPlay calls?

I received mine from Rob this week. He mentioned he was dealing with some personal stuff and apologized for the delay in responding to emails. Hopefully he will be able to respond back to your emails soon.

I haven't yet bought the mr12volt. I got the mic splitter in preparation for when or if I get the mr12volt. I have the carsara with the quadlock and I'm quite happy with it. I am just waiting to see how the issues/bugs that everyone has been experiencing with mr12volt pan out before I pull the trigger.

For those running Waze and Spotify via Wireless CarPlay: I know I had this issue with my Andream unit so I don't think it's related to Mr12volt.

Question: Can you guys use voice search in waze without any bugs? Like mine initiates and then disappears quickly without allowing you to speak. I'm on the latest software versions for both apps and iOS

The feature works occasionally but seems to pop up and disappear when running Spotify and waze together while playing music. If I fist start waze and don't play music, it works. As soon as I start playing music and try, the listening aspect pops up and disappears quickly.

This was not a problem in iOS14 but I'm hoping it's not related to any hardware issues either.

Just trying to get an idea if it's my personal settings or something specific to my phone.

I'm 99% sure it's a bug with waze and sent the issue to them but I wanted to hear your feedback.

Hi all, just fitted the unit and all working well, I'm very impressed.

Just one thing though....the dynamic trajectory lines on the reverse camera view skip. If I turn the steering wheel clockwise a bit the guidelines curve to the right, but if I continue turning the wheel the guidelines skip all the way to the left and then sweep from left to right again. It's like the endpoints don't match and it keeps cycling round as you turn the wheel!

Has anyone else had this issue? I'm using the AliExpress GreenYi Camera, option D. Thanks!

Mine seem straight although occasionally the image does not pop up very quickly. I'm using some other flat lense cam though and will be swapping to Green Yi D when it arrives.

Does your music dim to mute when you reverse? Would love to turn that interruption off if possible.

I don't think this is currently possible, but hope I'm wrong. If I'm not mistaken, the Mr12Volt P2000 unit can only play one input at a time. Would be nice if this is something that can be changed via firmware update, but more than likely is a hardware limitation.

I wonder if other devices (i.e., Carsara) behave the same. Maybe someone else in the forum with more experience can provide some information about this.

SocalM3 had some problems with his dynamic trajectory lines and was able to get an update for the issue. Don't know if the update is specifically for Manual or DCT BMWs, or relates to your issue, so keep that in mind.

And now the reverse camera dynamic lines have fixed themselves! Maybe the camera had to learn the range of motion from CAN during the first ignition cycle and after a sleep cycle functions properly!

Mine does quiten the music to almost mute in reverse - to be honest I prefer it like that as I find it easier to concentrate! I haven't seen any option to disable it though
