honestly it all comes down to paint correction. How much time is involved into getting the paint ready for coating. Ive seen guys with Lambos etc paying well over $4k for their coating packages with multiple layers of coating. And most of the time their paint is pretty good to start with.

I did my work myself and spent about 12 hours paint correcting the my current M. I did do detailing as a kid for several years and I can run a high speed buffer. The coating is the easy part.

Varies highly based on quality of paint correction, products used and area you are in.

As well as condition of the vehicle and how much correction is needed.

Really depends on the quality of work the guys do. The majority of the work is the paint correction/polishing.

The coating is maybe 10% of the total labor - its basically just a durable wax/sealant on top of the paint.

Size: 468.8 KBPaint Correction is definitely the most important part (and very labor intensive). Then the type of coating will determine how well the paint looks and longevity!
I am in the process of restoring my Z4M Coupe! My buddy has a small detailing business and doing an amazing job on the paint.
Very bad conditions, he spent a good 4 days on cutting and polishing
Finished and ready for coating.

Shortly after I bought the car over four years ago I had it corrected and coated with Ceramic Pro. Previous owner must have loved automatic car washes.

Paint should be in pretty good shape as it was a mess.

Black Sapphire Metallic? I had a Z4C... non M in that color. Love how it shines and looks silver when it's really cleaned up well.

Wow, i thought my Z4M was bad they actually did a good job with yours but i could still see some scratches. That is typical with retail shops; they wont go the extra steps for mirror like finishes.
Here is my closed-up

How is the Ceramic Pro holding up?

Wow those turned out fantastic. I'm about to correct my clear coat next month and was worried it wouldn't clean up. May need to take a couple more days off work to get it right.

Yes, Black Saphire Metallic! One of my favorite color when cleaned🥰
The Metallic will pop once we finish with the coating.
My buddy is using Kamikaze Zipang and Miyabi Coating!

spend the money on paint correction, do the ceramic coat yourself. its the easiest part that nobody talks about and shops charge close to 1,000 for coating.

if it dries and you miss a spot, it can buff out with some compound. NBD.

Yes, proper paint correction is a must since you dont want to cut the clear coat down too low!
Some coatings are better than other as far as gloss/wet look and durability! Professional stuffs usually harder to apply and last longer.
Here she is, all done with Kamikaze Miyabi and Zipang🥰
