Cooling fan suggestings

I tried searching to no avail. The cooling fan on my E90 has been making a lot of noise since I bought the car. Recently it became noticeably wobbly, making everything in that area vibrate to the point where I'm afraid that the hoses might get damaged. Should I replace it with OEM or is there a better aftermarket option? I would think that for $1200 that the OEM unit costs, I can find something more economical without sacrificing on quality.

Have you checked if it's just a loose clip/screw? Fan motors usually either run or they don't. Vibration might be caused by a loose mounting or damaged blade. My car has 145k kms and still original fan so they are tough units.

That's what I was hoping for, but when I spin it by hand, it's doing figure 8s.

Ah sorry to hear that. But I've not heard of any aftermarket fans that were worth the hassle. Just go back to stock.

I recently had to replace my fan. FCP Euro had them on clearance then, not sure about now. My fan had developed cracks near the hub. Also search as there was mention that the OEM fan has multiple speeds that after market fans would not have.
