Subframe Removal - At a loss

Hi everyone,

I was following the DIY for the rear subframe removal / solid bushing install, and everything was going smoothly...
Until I had to remove this damn parking brake cable. I was able to unclip it without a problem, but when I pulled, it was only the cable that came and not the metal insert that goes into the carrier.
I tried hammering from the cable side to loosen it up a bit, but that did nothing. I tried hammering from the wheel side using a 7mm socket, but that just ruined the plastic dust boot.
I'm at a loss of where to go from here, but I do need to get it out somehow.

Please let me know if you have any tricks/tips, thank you

Think it has a small bolt that holds it in place from behind the hub if I remember correctly. Take that off and it comes right out.

Edit: i happen to be working in rear bushings today and confirm there is an allen head small bolt holding it on.

Oh yup, should have mentioned. I tried all these things after I took that bracket out

I would have tried removing at the hand brake end; they rust or corrode onto the hub on cars that are driven year round in states that have 4 seasons. Buy new cables.

This seems to be the most reasonable solution. I totally forgot this was an option, thank you!

For anyone else going through this, I managed to get mine out with liberal amounts of WD40 reapplied regularly for about 24 hours. Was able to muscle it out without breaking anything

would you happen to have a picture or 2 of what you are referring to/going through? I might be tackling the subframe bushing soon too so want to see what kind of problems I can come across. Thanks in advance.

disconnect the e-brake from the center console. Way easier than rebuilding the drum brakes lol

I actually went off of this video, but only took the rears off. You could just disconnect the front as others have suggested. Although disconnecting and reconnecting the handbrake is easy with a thin screwdriver.

In the video, you see the metal end of the cable disconnect from the wheel carrier. The problem I was having is that metal end was corroded in place. WD40 and time and it came out with some fighting

Lots of fighting if you live in New England and drive year round.
