62k BE/ARP preventative swap done today. Made it back to San Diego, no problems! Can't beat that 1 day turnaround

The hard part will be taking it easy for the first 1000 miles

Hope you guys are enjoying the car, knowing that you'll never have bearing issues! While the break in is not necessary, it's recommended. It is ideal to give it heat cycles and proper wear. This doesn't mean you CAN'T drive it hard, but just try not to

Do you need to swap out the oil/filter after the 1k break-in period? Or is it just advised to give it some proper wear in time?

It's advised to replace oil and filter after 1,000 miles. In the case if there is any excess shavings from your old bearings, to avoid any potential damages on your new bearings. Why not be extra careful after spending so much money

Consider it a engine oil flush. As when we remove your oil pan, we remove all the excess oil inside the pan. The oil pump and vanos pump also drains out during that time!
