Not NJ.

It's remarkable wow many people with permits to carry in PA would cross the bridge to NJ carrying their gun and then be surprised when they find themselves arrested and their gun confiscated. Nothing like getting locked up while you're on your way to Atlantic City with your date. Kinda puts a little hiccup in your plans.

It is a good idea to KNOW the laws in other states, rather than taking some dudes word for it.

To the OP: check out Safariland's quick attachment system (QAS). A ton of PDs use em as duty rigs, and they actually make a plate that you can secure anywhere in your vehicle and just clip your weapon, already holstered, to the plate.

Here's their rather annoying to navigate site:
