Yes because BMW has a history of designing M3 lemons I mean what were they thinking when they built the award winning e9x engine/chassis M3 (Strange to me that the e9x engine & dct is considered somewhat fragile as there was a board member here that back in 08 did the stroker motor AND supercharged the stroker engine in his 08 dct M3!) or the award winning e46 engine/chassis M3 (The e46 bullet proof engine is STILL amazing to me i mean what HPF does with thoes engines is mind-boggling) or the timeless e36 M3?

With that track record I think I'd be ok being the "test subject" for the f-body M3, assuming i can hold out!

Ben sorry to hear about your car and hope you find one you like soon man!

Cheers -

For me it is more about the styling. I am seeing these new spy shots of the new coupe (4 series I guess) and it resembles the body shape of the mustang.

I don't question the reliability.

I don't have issue with the style or the reliability. I have issue with the fact that its two years out, and that I need a car!

Ben, what kind of loaner did your insurance get you? Some kind of Ford or Chevy sedan? Must be miserable. Shoot, I'm pretty miserable when I even get a 328i as a loaner vehicle lol!

Dodge Avenger. I'm still paying 11 cents per day out of pocket.

It is the worst car I've ever driven.

While I agree with your award winning comments, the test subject job isn't about the motor. The primary job duty is to help with all of the electronic gremlins. BMW's are notorious for electronic issues with new releases. If you do some home work and start fact checking with the 2002 E65/66 7 series, you'll soon understand what we are talking about. I know the motors are bullet proof. And I'm not a BMW noob that has heard this somewhere before....I'm 7 cars in the game now since 1999. While I'm hooked on the product, I'm not up for the job of test subject....................Phil

Since I have after-market springs (which are stiffer than stock), I don't even use EDC anymore. I set EDC to Comfort at all times. Setting EDC to anything stiffer (Sport, Sport Plus) if running after-market springs, makes the ride way too harsh and unpleasantly bouncy on Houston streets.

But if you don't have after-market springs, you may see some benefit to having EDC. Set it to Sport or Sport Plus on smooth roads in the hill country. Set it to Comfort for the bumpy roads of Houston streets.

Yeah, so long that the signature section wouldn't let me input anymore characters because of character limits. So, I guess I'm done modding forever!

The ability to change the ride comfort is nice....if you didn't have it you won't miss it. I keep mine in normal unless I hit the M button and then it's set to sport. One good thing I have found is......when tires are going bald and the ride is rough, comfort is great.....in fact I had to use comfort today.......the beltway seemed rougher than normal....or is it time for tires ................Phil

Just make the font size smaller and you should be good to go!

Correct. My car had EDC but the consensus seems to be that the ride in non-EDC cars is closest to the normal (middle) setting on EDC cars.

That was going to be my next question... I'm annoyed by the big gap between the Power and DSC buttons though! haha

if it makes you feel any better, you can get a white-ink pen and write "NAAAAAWS' on that empty button.
