Yesterday was my first track day with my new AP BBK. I am a B group driver and have only been doing this for 2 years so I do not proclaim to be an expert by any means. All I have to say is that the brakes worked flawlessly. They did exactly what I wanted them to do when I wanted them to do it. I was able to brake later, and I was able to modulate the brakes much better. There is one area on the track which you need to brake lightly and previously I would unsettle the car. My feeling is that the stock brakes (in comparison to the AP brakes) are like an on-off switch. Much better brake modulation with the AP brakes.

Anyway I had a great day. At the end of the day my instructor, who last year was the driving event coordinator, said I could move up to the A group. I respectfully declined. Just can't believe how much fun I had and the brakes were a large part of it.
Nice.
I won't get a chance to track them till mid June. Hoping the AP kit performs well at Road Atlanta.

I went ahead and ordered the European OEM 18s style 260 today. According to AP these will clear the kit without spacers. Going to use it as my winter set up, Canadian dollar is so par with US dollar, so I figured now is the best time to order.

Evan@Tischer said he can get them, and if they aren't diff then North American versions they will take them back.
Part numbers are below if anyone is interested.
36102283750, fronts
36102283751, rears

Chris was kind enough to send me a pic of the AP kit behind European style 260 OEM 18" wheels.
I didn't know these looked so much like OEM 19s.

Hmm - I could have swore I had seen a set of 260's on a European members car and they looked more like the 18's over here, just no taper on the spokes.

Very interesting - they look good though!

After I got my AP kit and realized the stock Style 219 front's wouldn't fit, I considered getting a pair of Style 260's for the front but staying with "normal" Style 219's for the rear. After tracking down every photo I could of both, I concluded that the two styles were different enough in appearance that it would look goofy, so I bought a pair of MS 10mm spacers with black bolts instead. I already own three sets of 219's, so I wasn't enthusiastic about starting over.

The service limit is 1.5mm below nominal. So, the fronts should be replaced if below 34.5mm and the rears if below 24.5mm.

Chris
and do you know what the limits are for other manufacturers (Brembo/ST)? How long would that 1.5mm take to shave off? Obviously it varies...but we talking longer than stock?

It would be best to get numbers from the appropriate sources. For the AP's, there is much more pad surface area than OE as well as better iron, so we normally see better (lower) wear rates. Of course, pad choice and driving style often can trump any expectations!

I'm checking. We'll get any confusion cleared up!
