I removed my muffler after I started having this issue and took a mallet to the heat shield to eliminate that possibility with the first unit. Ironically the noise came back on the second unit 300 miles post installation just as the muffler packing material was starting to break in.

I reuploaded the video so you can hear for yourself. Anything but the heat shield. In fact, you could hear it standing behind the exhaust hitting the gas peddle and bounding back between 3k and 4k rpm.

Well this is pretty clear evidence! It will be interesting to hear what Turner find when they do the post mortem on the old one.

that's rather interesting. wouldn't be surprised if there was a pinhole in baffling that cracked.

For those that wired in a vacuum pump, did you do it to switched power? If so, where?

I wired mine to a terminal on the battery with in an inline 5 amp fuse but I got the increased batterry discharge warning. Would prefer not to have to run anything from the fuse box back. Thoughts?

Earlier in the thread someone mentioned using a relay on the amp I believe.

Are you still having the issue with the Titanium one? I’m super disappointed in the quality of this! I’m having crazy amounts of rust on mine too. I consider it unacceptable…

Can someone post which wire it's tapped into on the amp? I couldn't figure it out so I ran it directly to the battery with a fuse.

@mattfojtik I haven’t installed the replacement titanium yet. I’ll be sure to report back.

Use a voltage tester or test light and confirm which is the amp trigger wire.

It's never good to go by what works for someone else because wire colors change or options change. Best to confirm yourself.

tdott Thats a good point, thanks!

It's really unfortunate this stainless steel version is having these problems. I really hope Turner is able to resolve this. I had to drive into the city this morning while it was pouring rain and loved just how quiet this thing is when the valves are shut. Zero drone and no headache.

The sound is awesome. How much does it weigh?

I just ran a wire straight into the cabin and the fusebox behind the glove box to fuse 5 I believe.

Titanium parts sitting in my garage. I’m out of town on spring break with the family so it will be a couple weeks before I can do the install. Stay tuned…

Titanium system installed. Test drive performed, sounds great, no weird resonance. I again paid special attention to any heat shield contact, etc. I strong believe the issue with my prior system was internal and Turner will cut mine open and report back.

Now that I’ve run both, I can say the sound is identical between the titanium and stainless. Titanium is lighter by about 15 pounds (mostly in the muffler unit). Titanium construction (welds, bends, etc) looks just as good as the stainless.

I’ll report back on feedback from Turner. I can also note they are now including the correct sized Tee barb for the vacuum tap after my feedback to them.

Surprised the sound is the same. Maybe it'll change once fully broken in.

Turner is still "investigating" my resonance issue with the second exhaust and hasn't given me any update in terms of what they plan to do.

You’ve gotten 2 replacements and still are getting the sound?!

In the process of getting the car ready for spring. Getting the exhaust valves wired to a vacuum pump in the next few days and then the car will be out this weekend. Will report on any issues with my SS catback. So far it only has maybe 50-100 miles on it.

I too am getting my car ready for the season. I got a quick little drive in to drop it off at the shop yesterday and finally got to hear the exhaust under driving conditions. REALLY like the multiple personalities the valved option gives us with no drone with valves closed but the sound of a race sound exhaust with them open.

No issues with mine as of yet, but only like 25 miles on it. Once car is back, I'll start putting some miles on it and report if anything develops.

I’ve put about 2.5k miles since November and have had no issues so far. I’ve had it paired with an AA aftermarket midpipe and now with catless w/ OEM secondary and resonator - can’t go wrong with either direction. Valves open still sounds intoxicating in either iteration.

They sent me 1 replacement exhaust and the same resonance problem started happening after about 300 miles. The original exhaust had the problem from day 1. I've put on about 2000-2500 miles on the second exhaust and the resonance noise has only gotten worse. I'm still waiting for them to let me know how they plan to resolve this. Last email they sent me said they will look in the original exhaust. Assuming they will be cutting it open.

Since the SS version is on back order until August, I'm very curious how they plan to address this. IMO this exhaust is great however it has several flaws. The rear section is too tall causing it to come in contact with the heat shield. I also noticed the tips are not spaced properly, at least on the second one (First one didnt have this issue) Then there are the resonance issues which really cheapens the sound of this exhaust.

Video clips of the second exhaust they sent me.

I am SO relieved to have checked back on this thread and see someone documented this sound. This is EXACTLY the sound I had and same between 3-4k RPM only and then it would go away.

I didn't pay too much attention to it at first as I was sorting out a DCT tune and figured the tune was causing the strange sounds on shifts, but after switching maps and getting a nice, crisp shifts, the rattle/resonance sound was getting downright embarrassing.

I still feel to this day, if your Turner doesn't have that resonance issue and paired with a good quality X pipe, it's one of the best sounds out. IMO, with a catless X pipe was just far too loud valves open.

Delayed on getting the exhaust/car ready for spring. Wired the vacuum pump I received in the fall off of Amazon and the pump itself is defective. Going to try to source a new one that will take a few weeks to come in.
