After adding a second x pipe to the front of the central X pipe, this changed the sound drastically. Much less rasp and more higher pitch. Sounds more unique and exotic in my opinion.

I saw this double helix x-pipe on the Mustang S550 tuning sites. Asked about it here and got laughed at lol. Glad someone decided to try it out.
Was there a reduction in volume? Any increase in torque? |

The sound once you add the 2nd X-pipe becomes smoother and less raspy. I would say it's about a 10 percent reduction in overall volume. Of course the tone is changed to a more F1 inspired sound. Since it doesn't make the exhaust deeper, there is no drone. Super happy that the annoying rasp at 2.5-3k rpm is finally gone. The performance difference is unchanged through the butt dyno. I am excited to take it to a real dyno for some performance comparisons. |

Regular BPM sport Stage 2 tune. I contacted Mike for a forward X revision tune but no response. There is the low rpm hesitation when flooring it below 2k RPMs but I don't do that often. It also doesn't happen during launch control.

Sounds great!
Some constructive criticism, but this probably isn't the most functional design, considering the extra material, and not straight piping...I would think you probably lose a small amount of power.

Yea I can understand your concern. I haven't felt any power difference but I will be doing another dyno soon to compare. Last time I achieved 376 HP to the wheels. Honestly the sound is worth any small decrease in power. Another option may be to create a longer merge X pipe like the IPE F1 exhaust has.

The IPE F1 x pipe was famous for its sound and infamous for its power loss; with that said I would gladly give up 10hp for a much improved symphony. Especially if it gets rid of the rasp

Curious to see how the before/after dyno looks.

IPE F1 Is definitely more restrictive no comparison. The bends will cause friction loss but the IPE is essentially cutting down two 2.5" pipes to roughly 1.25" diameter each. Huge difference especially if your car is supercharged.

+1 on the dyno. Would be keen to see if there is any power loss.
OP have you put on the permanent pipes or are you still using the temp piping in the video? |

Going to the muffler shop soon to replace the flex pipes with welded pipes and then schedule a dyno run soon after.

Sounds like an open valved exhaust on a cat-less xpipe. I'm probably missing the nuance?
Love the willingness to explore / test ideas!
