Nice! One installation tip: Position the elbow with the filter between the plenum and the airbox well seated before tightening the clamps on the rubber connecting piece. If not, the airbox cover might mis-align. Otherwise, the fitment is very tight and superb! Also, you'll need to remove the oem nipple (on the left side wall of the airbox that holds the OEM filter tightly in place) and replace with what comes with the elbow. DYI's out there tells you to remove the box to get to the release clip. However, I used a rubber mallet to gently tap the oem piece out without breaking the tab.

Anyone know if an MS filter will work with the Haimus intake?

I thought about this as I was unsure how easy it will be to clean the Haimus filter or source a new one at later time. I had the MS filter and it looked like it will fit with some effort, e.g, remove the nipple piece completely and placing something as a placeholder. The issue was that the MS filter didn't want to fit with the Haimus elbow and the nipple piece in place (OEM or Haimus provided). Without the nipple piece the MS or Haimus filter and elbow did not want to connect tightly together. However, I'm sure one can make it work.

Quick update! From the sounds of things everyone should've gotten their tracking numbers today as Haimus is sending out all pending orders

Does all Haimus elbow come with the nipple piece or only for the early M3 models?

Hmm, not sure... Mine is 2009 pre-LCI but some parts run under newer fitment because of the production month. For example, the MS underdrive pulley belt is the newer one vs. the 2008 ones.

It seems too long overall. I simply can't get the filter on the intake and spring loaded nipple. With the filter atatched to the intake it doesn't fit. Mine is the LCI version so I reuse the factory nipple. I'm pushing so hard the intake contacts the plenum and the filter still won't slide into the airbox over the nipple.

Hmm, mine was tight but was able to make it fit. Initailly started with plenum and elbow side but had to work backwards (filter, elbow, elbow to plenum, and rubber connector) because the airbox lid wouldn't close properly. Nevertheless, it worked.

Perhaps, try my method?

Mine was very very tight but cloumeM instructions helped. 2011.75 e90 came with nipple

Anyone with an LCI car install theirs?

I finally got it close but there are a couple issues. The factory LCI plunger is pushed in its maximum amount but it still needs at least a half inch more for the filter to sit on the nipple.

Also the air filter needs to drop down that same amount but it's already almost touching the bottom of the airbox. The intake elbow appears to fit fine, but it seems the filter is too large.

????

Also this connection doesn't clip in or seal properly. I can pull it right off with no effort. It jiggles around with no positive connection.

Not what I would expect for $800.

That looks super tight... My suggestion is to remove the entire airbox and fit the filter. If not, you may need to consider shaving/filing off the oem nipple. If you don't want to, I can mail you mine so you don't have to mess with yours.

Mine was tiny bit loose fit but won't come off without applying pressure to the clip. I would try small piece of thin silicone tape around the male piece of elbow and make the fit more snug. Btw, you're right, the fitment should be better...

Hey Nero_tDriveway looks like the haimus airbox is now available and on sale? Any chance you can organize this group buy for existing participants from the plenum and elbow? If so, sign me up!

Damn it! It never ends... Assuming we can get them within the next couple of months, I'm in too.

Maybe if there's enough interest from everyone?
