New M3 Owner and Intro
Had my eyes on M3's for about 9 months, and finally pulled the trigger. I had Corvettes growing up; so I love the V8's and power, but I wanted something more exotic. I was also driving an escalade and had the itch to get back on the track. I am sure the new inline 6 with turbo is going to be great, but I didn't want to pass up on the chance to own the S65. Ended up pulling the trigger on a 2012 Frozen Silver, 4700 mi, ZCP, DCT, Carbon Interior, Nav, etc...
First impression, Perfection. I work and talk on the phone while driving; so the MT6 was out of the question. It is absolutely crazy to me how smooth this transmission, and how the feel of the car transforms from smooth and subtle to a race car with the electronic settings. I am shocked that this engine is 12:1 comp and pulls to 8500rpm, yet it idles like a sewing machine. MODS so far: Exhaust Mod Pagid S Sport Pads Stainless Steel Lines High temp Fluid BMW Spoiler Michelin Pilot Super Sport (255/35 fr, 275/35 rear) Considering: Engine Tune DCT Tune Coding Back Up Camera Angel Eyes Track Wheels and Tires Big Brake Kit Need to get some pictures on my good camera but here are a few quick ones from my iphone. Any other M enthusiasts in the DFW, give me a shout. Definitely looking forward to some track days and evens. |

Nice car! Tell about the pagid S...how do you feel? Do they squeal?
I'm about to change pads...and want to change from bermbo sport to Ferodo DS2500 or Pagid, but I don't want the squaling of racing pads of my daily driver...no track for me but a lot of autobahn driving.

wow, talk about a gorgeous M3 pick up. Not every day you see a frozen silver, probably my favorite of all the frozen colors.

I replaced the amber on my frozen silver with smoked - dark enough to give a nice contrast with the paint and look good with the black wheels...certainly better than the amber.

Beautiful car, I'm digging the frozen silver. I'm in the DFW area every now and again. Where did you pick the car up from? Dealership or private?

Thanks for the compliments!
Believe it or not, Ebay. I was browsing on there for months because I think Ebay has the best photos inside and out of cars and whats available. Also has a hidden Alpine sub in the back and the GTS Carbon Trim, which is really visually pleasing. Stole this pic, but looks the same. I agree that the track pads are not good for the street. The Pagid S squeal terribly on the street. I just got them so I am ready to swap for the track days, while I was doing the lines and fluid. Despite BMW replacing the stock ones for free, I understand they bed the rotors and I don't want to deal with taking the car to the dealer after every track day. Also, the Initial bite on the Pagid is night and day difference. Not sure if I like the smoked lights or not. I don't know why, but I think the amber turn and red tail lights are just classier than smoked. I would have to see them in person, I could be wrong. Already ordered a new Escort Max, the sound at 8500 is so good, its hard to stay out of it. Here is a video on the old stock Yokohamas.... http://youtu.be/lSEXC0L-cCU AND Exhaust mod http://youtu.be/G9RCK8zIkxk |
