I would be down as well. But same situation as Sean, never caught anything lol.

I could probably get a few more people to go as well but how many will the boat hold?

The boat that I go on is fairly large. It can hold 20+ people.

Everything can be provided by them, if needed. Rods, tackle, day license, etc...

There is no deal, so to speak. The boat that I go on charges $60 for the trip (3/4 day - leaves at 7am, comes back at 4pm) and live bait is included.

IIRC, the day license, rod rental, and tackle is about $25-30

If there is a group of 5-10 guys, I can ask to see if there is a discounted rate.

I didn't know that there would be this much interest lol.

Your license determines how deep you can go? Or is it only a recommendation?

110ft seems to be pretty deep, though I don't know much about diving lol.

When you fish at Channel Islands (deep sea), you drop the line about 300ft.

when i dove channel islands, i stayed around the kelp forest and about 70-85 feet.

Yeah, there are different types of licenses in scuba... from open water, to advanced open water, adventure diver, rescue diver and master diver. Each license has specialties like fish identification, digital underwater photography, NatGeo Diver, dry suit diver, deep water diver, wreck diver, ice diver, cavern diver, etc etc. haha

it's pretty much a recommendation... depends on how comfortable you are also. Generally it's up to the Master diver if he think you can handle yourself and deeper depths.

specialties aren't a requirement just to go diving. you can always do a Discover Scuba Day... it's like 5 hours, you get an hour to hour and a half of instruction and basics then diving the rest of the time.

For me... i'm a basic open water diver but would love to get my NatGeo Specialty, Digital Underwater Photography, Night Diving and Ice DIving certifications. Technically i'm only supposed to stay under 60 feet aust advanced is 60-100ft and deep diver is 60-130ft. Once you start doing enriched oxygen dives, those guy will go to like 200ft. hahaha
