How is this possible? $15k for Frozen Red!

I'm flipping through CarGurus just daydreaming about the stable of M3s I'll collect some day, and I see this Frozen Red E92. The description says the Frozen Red Individual is $15,400! I figure it's a typo. Then, I see an image of the window sticker.

WTF? How is this justified? Is that level of exclusivity worth that kind of upcharge? I realize there no "right" answer to that question, but I was floored. Just for kicks, here's the car:

It's hard to imagine anyone wanting to fork over $15k for that paint, but I guess to that one buyer "it's special."

This got my attention from your post more than the frozen M3:

What year did you have your Bav? My father purchased a new '72 Bavaria (my avatar), I got my license in it in 1974, and I later bought it from him in 1980. I owned it for the following 14+ years. I had a wicked motor built by Korman in 1981, triple webers, etc, and did the suspension, wheels, Recaros, etc. It was a super fast, well-handling car that I tracked and autocrossed like a mad man all through the 80s.

The Frozen editions are even more limited than the Limerock edition. It wouldn't surprise me that the package is in the $15k range since my Limerock's Monroney sticker quotes the LRP trim as a $10k option.

Either way don't cry, buy!

The, unthinkable, alternative would be a fart can F series fake M and who in their right automotive mind would ever sign up for that piece of shiyat????

I bought the Bavaria in 1976. It was my first non-American car and I loved it. Right up until the head cracked. It was the first car I drove faster than 100 because it was so effortless!

I think they just had black exhaust tips on the standard muffler, not MPE!

I came across this car a few times in my search for a MR e92. Looks great but still can't justify the price. Here's the full listing for anyone interested:

This is just sad. I'd take MB red over this any day. It's hard to imagine someone spending this much on an E9X m3 that's not a limerock. Anyone looking to drop that much on an M car is going to end up with a used F8X M3/4. They need to drop the price by like $5k+. But the frozen red does grab people's attention so I hope the future buyer is happy with their purchase

To each their own. Would I kill for a frozen blue e92? Of course. But as a reasonable human being you have to justify the money. Will someone buy that car? Maybe, possibly. That 13-15k premium over other zcp e92s could pay for a lot of smiles per gallon that's for sure

That's what I paid for on my individual '13 in Santorini blue as part of the "edition" cars.. came with mpe, premium package, blue stitching throughout the interior, ext. leather etc. Put the new price of the car at $102,495 CAD

You need to split that commission with me. I had the link in my first post.
