Do it! I did notice it says its the BMS MI00 part number which ISNT the M3 model. Hell even the pictures on the page show the non-M rear shocks.

"When I spoke with the folks over at Ohlins USA they informed me the difference in price from a rebuild vs a revalve really wasnt that big in that they already have them apart anyway. Its my understanding is just a different stack of shims. Whether its a rebuild vs revalve they're opened up seals are inspected/ replaced fluid changed etc anyway.

As was already mentioned the biggest decider on price of a rebuild is the condition of the dampers in the first place. I was told to expect to pay around 2-250 per corner but thankfully mine were in great shape when I sent them in and looking at my invoice I paid $716.78 which included return shipping for a revalve on all 4. Pretty sweet deal I'd say."

Interesting. I wonder how many miles before this service was needed and how they were treated.

Sorry for the delayed response. I'm hoping to achieve a drop that I can adjust to my liking. I'm looking to do wheels next so I need the ability to adjust based on my aftermarket wheel and tire setup. I hoping to achieve better handling(less body roll). I plan on tracking the car, but not hardcore like some of you guys here.

Yes, it would be great to know the anticipated mileage before a rebuild???

If you are mostly a weekend warrior with country roads and maybe one or two track days, can you expect 30 to 40K before a rebuild?

I think the rebuild and not having enough definite information is holding my purchase back of the Ohlins Road Track.

Same here.

The rebuilds don't appear trivial, as the cost is significant and requires the labor to pull the struts out and sent in for servicing. Not to mention possible downtime and having your car sit on jack stands.

If that's required every 15,000-20,000 Miles, then that doesn't sound worth it to me personally.

Frankly, at the cost of one rebuild, you are getting close the KW Clubsport price territory (and minus the inconvenience of the rebuild).

With the current KW sale I paid not much more ($500) than sale cost of the Ohlins R&T and the clubsports include camber plates. Worth the $500 to have the set complete. Ohlins were at the top of my list but the current sale on the KWs changed my mind.

The issue with the clubsports was level of comfort on the street and the need for a wheel spacer in the front to clear the sptruct/spring with certain wheels.

They are more track focused for sure, I don't daily my car and mostly use it for autocross and track days.

That depends on how the car is driven but pretty much any aftermarket coilover will not last as long as the oem suspension.

I was in the same position as you. Wanted the car lower, reduction of body roll, and improved handling for the track (maybe 3-4 days a year). BUT, I didn't want to sacrifice ride quality since it's my daily.

Had them installed a year ago, and the kit has met all of my needs, I highly recommend it. I did take a ride in an E90 M3 with KW CS, but the ride quality was too harsh for my liking as a daily.

My MCS 2way remotes were perfectly fine after more than 40000 miles. New owner had them checked. I think this “you must rebuild your trick dampers often” thing is either a money making scheme, or an excuse to sell crap dampers or both

It really depends on the roads you drive and the suspension you get.

If you drive San Francisco roads every day, most aftermarket shocks will not last 40k miles of driving. There's so many potholes, bumps and the roads resemble the surface of the moon. I can rarely go more than 15-20mph on the local streets on coilover suspension and my car is only 20mm lower than stock.

I had a set of Ohlins DFV R&T in a previous car. They felt noticeably softer after 30k miles of driving and probably in need of a rebuild if you want like new dampening. The manual says about 20-30k intervals.

My KW V3s on the M3 are much more durable for street driving. It is a twin tube design and the manual says 60k mile service intervals.

With Ohlins R/T if it starts to soften over time - which is normal of all shocks - you can reduce clicks to stiffen them up again.

I only plan to rebuild when I run out of clicks. I've had mine 17k kms and haven't had to stiffen them up yet. I run 12/12 for daily driving.
