e9x Integrated Dash Cam

Has anyone installed one of these in their M3? I've been wanting a dash cam installed into my car for awhile, but was not a fan of anything on my windshield.

Decided to order it to give it a shot. Could always easily return it, since it's available through Prime!

Looks extremely well done. Would love to find out how it works/lasts.

I have one but have not installed it yet, got it as a gift and was not certain of the quality. the instructions are in broken English however the installation is pretty straight forward.

Build quality looks fine, I may tackle it this weekend. I am same as you, I am not a fan of the dash cam mounted in my view, prefer the integrated option.

Wow! that is super slick. The price doesn't really reflect quality but please let me know how it is. I would like to see day and night footage if possible. I've been wanting a black vue setup, but like you don't want anything exposed for thieves to steal.

love the integrated housing
but
can we do a 2-channel dash cam install incorporating this?
and the mem card size seems to be capped at 32GB according to a comment

interesting, seems like QC is hit or miss, but the ones that work people seem to be happy...

Upon opening up the box, I discovered that the build quality wasn't to my expectations. The plastic housing appeared like it was a good match for OE, but the fitment was average at best. Also, it seems like a screw was missing on the inside to hold the camera to housing.

Returned back to Amazon...

I've read contradictory feedback about the same unit across several members in the E90 post thread. Perhaps their QC is just really bad and I received a defective unit...

I just received my dash camera from the link above, mine seems to be in good shape, all the tabs are there, the SD slot seems a little off, but maybe once the two halves are snapped together it will align.
I most likely won't get around to installing until,the weekend, it's a hundred a
Damn degrees today...
I appreciate the OP starting the thread, thanks!

Let me know your thoughts once installed!

Perhaps I received a bunk unit. May order another one...

FUUUuuh-k . this . thing!

I had it installed within 20 min.

Then I got an airbag malfunction pop up and my sun roof doesn't work properly anymore, my key fob nor central lock button lock or unlock the doors...

I've used CarlyBMW to clear codes and I still need to see what to do to fix the locking.

Did you attached this little box to it? If so, disconnect it. It causes problems with the FRM. The camera will work just fine without it.

I did, I have now disconnected it and everything else, I may look into wiring just the camera or sending it back.

Yeah it's a superb idea but a very unreliable camera. I have it hooked up and it works.......when it wants too. I still rely on my OEM BMW dashcam to get the job done!

This reminds me of the one on my dad's X5. BMW dealerships in China often give their customers the option to get an OEM-ish looking dashcam like that. When my dad picked up his X5 a few years ago (in China), the dealers over there brought him to their 3rd party installer and he had it done. I'm going back in a few weeks and can pop on over and ask them how it's done?
