I love my ATAK. Had it for 3 years now and think it's perfect compared to what else I've heard.

I definitely think it is the best bang for your buck even though it is a all around general exhaust.

Meaning like a Borla can go on a Mustang, a Camaro, a M3, etc., where as a Dinan goes on BMW only.

That doesn't mean anything bad. If anything, it gives them even more experience.

I agree. I see nothing bad from it, but some may see it as a jack of all trades exhaust. I myself love it.

No, more like every so often when I bump it a discussion on my exhaust starts in my thread with a few peeps. (look at prior comments for what I mean)

How does it compare to a Akrapovic?

I have heard Akra sounds barely more than stock just is very light.

The Borla has a deeper tone to it that falls away the higher up you go in the rev range.

To my ears, the Akra definitely has a more metallic sound. Not raspy, but not as deep. I wish I could be more scientific than that.

ATAK plus a catless xpipe is simply glorious. Here is a link to my car on track for your listening pleasure.

Money no option, which would you buy and why?

I say the point of an aftermarket exhaust is to increase db level and sound right? So which checks the boxes enough to notice?

I'd still go with Borla. The welds are beautifully done and the fit is excellent. The sound gives a deep baritone that's missing from the stock exhaust. So does the Akra, But where the Akra gets more raspy and metallic as you climb up the rev range, the Borla simply falls away and you hear the engine. Like an excellent backup singer. It's also deep enough around town to draw attention without being obnoxious.

I think that Borla gets a bad rap because it's more known for American muscle than exotic German engines, but Ive enjoyed them in many of my cars, none American.

It's hard to make this engine sound bad, and the Akra is also a beautiful piece. But I see no advantage to it over the Borla

Akra is known for motorcycles if I recall. So all the Akra-fan boys have no room to talk either.

I say get the exhaust you want.
