Long-time friend in this case. Get plugged into local CCA - a lot of the really nice cars change hands through word of mouth (how found and sold most of mine).

Did you get the 1,200 mile service. It unlocks more useable power I believe. I thought it was slightly restricted until the service? Congrats though. I hope who ever gets it eventually uses it more.

'Unlocks' more power? First I've heard of that.

I did the 1200 mile service a few years ago but there were no software or hardware updates that would suggest any difference to the engine tune.

And as stated, the car is not up for sale, unless my family decides to part with it after I move on to the next world

that 1200 miles break-in service unlocking more power has been denied by dealers, but what does a dealer know.. not much. I went through it and didn't notice any difference but i would not be surprised there to be some partial truth to it as enginners can easily code things like this and nobody would know even inside bmw except for the inner circles that would be very picky about what they let out.

It unlocked launch control I thought? As far as I can remember I could not access launch control until after the 1200 service. Full power I thought was restricted until the 1200 mile service. I have had mine to long and drive it. 2011 was a long time ago. If you do a search about it pros and cons appear. I would ask you to see if you can access and do a launch control, but you seem to had the service done that would not prove it Lol. Anyone remember if you could access launch control before the service. Or anybody with a valuable exotic low mileage E9X to prove the theory? ?

The last one was not a USA model, so maybe different numbering system. As far as I know there were three 2013 numbers used as the last seven in 2013...E79XXXX, J59XXXX and J97XXXX.

+1

I owned a 2011 E92 original owner and put 50,000 on the car during my 5 years of ownership. What's the point of having the car if you don't enjoy it. Sheesh
