E92 vs 2015 370z Nizmo
Wondering about the comparison in handling between the E92 (I have a 2008) and 2015 or newer 370z Nismo. I know the 370z is going to leave you wanting for power but Assume the much newer Top of the line Z handles nicely in comparison.

I used to call my HR Z the Jack of All Trade, Master of None. It didn't really excel at anything it did, but it also wasn't absolutely terrible aside from the shitty cargo area, lmao.

I'd say it came down to driver skill if my memory serves me correct about the various 370Z's I've driven.

Yea that's 100% correct. I've known a spec Miata that lapped faster than a z06 on a short track but the driver was superb compared to the ZO6. But I'm wondering about general characteristics. 300-400lbs light to me and 8 years newer make me think in paper the Z has the handling advantage.

I would rather upgrade the m3 in the handling areas, over buying a nismo 370z. Not a logical move at all, from my perspective. As "new" as this nismo may be, its tech is still about as old as the m. The 370z is ancient platform desperately needing a replacement.
Wait are you in a e92 m3 or a 335i? if so get an m3...

370z understeers too much from factory to be on the same level, I've never had much trouble with one on track but never ran with a very skilled driver either.
335i vs 370z might be a different story....

I asked the question about the M. I currently own an E92 M. My signature is 6 years old and I had a 335i in the past but never updated my signature.
I drive a 2008 BMW M3. Apologize for the confusion, I do not currently have a 335. |

Do people really react like this to others in this forum? what a sarcastic shyt bag.
We drive M3's yet this guy acts like he is sitting at a lambo dealership picking up his new Aventador. "Lambo was the wrong choice, go pick your self up a BMW, LOL" |

httorihanzo: I sense some hostility in your many replies to my posts. Apparently you have a tendency to take the internet a little too serious. This is an online forum, not high school.
Cool bruh

I've seen very fast 370Z Nismo's on track. In the right hands, it makes the M3 look like a joke. But then I find most 370Z owners to not be as skilled drivers...
Same can be said for modified S2000s, they pretty much dominate everything on tracks that I've been to. Still, you're comparing apples to oranges. The 370Z Nismo is kinda built for track duty. The M3 is a GT car and much more comfortable for every day use and easy to drive fast.

We used to have a 370Z and shared it as our ONLY car (including Costco trips, traveling with 2 dogs, road trips...). It has a really cool stick shift rev matching feature that is really cool and never once turned it off.
It really is a car that you just fall in love with, one of those that you have fond memories of forever. It is so easy to drive, much easier than the M3. You won't feel that the suspension is lacking at all, but the stock tires are terrible (idk about the nismo) and there is a lot of road noise. They're also very rare and the nismos hold their value well. It's a much more simple car, no different drive modes or comfort settings. But since you talked about the track you have to know that the Z is not ready for the track. I'm not sure if they changed it in later years but we bought oil cooler, brake ducts and better brake fluid just for aggressive street driving. If you have any specific questions let me know I miss that car a lot actually. |

I'd say the 370z would be quicker on an autocross or a short track course with a competent driver running both cars back to back. As the speeds pick up on a road course like VIR, the m3 would have more of an advantage.
One car is a lighter sports car and the other is a sports sedan. It's not obvious that a 370z would "handle" better than the m3? |
