Alcantara interior details

Been paying attention to the alcantara materials for a while. And I am very tempted to go with the wrapped stock wheel seen on frozen silver edition by cobywheels.com as well as numerous members here have switched to alcantara boots. Mine is bamboo beige, extended. Would you provide some opinions or pictures regarding such a cosmetic mod ?

Do it, and show us how it looks.
I just had the blue stripe /M Performance wheel installed today by tlp and it's AMAZING. He has the Performance brake handle which matches the DCT and is alcantara, but has the Performance white stitching. I looks great.
Can't do much with the DCT since it's all one piece.

Ive been contemplating about your m performance wheel. Still not certain whether a alcantara wrapped m3 will suit me better than the performance one? How do you like about the grip any thicker than the standard one?

The /M Performance wheel has the /M blue/red stitching with blue stripe, while the Performance wheel has white stitching with yellow stripe.

The new wheel feels DAMN GOOD!!! I'm just a little afraid to get it dirty, so I always wash my hands before driving. I think it's about as thick as the standard wheel.

look at these guys too... lots of positive feedback on the subi forums... http://www.jpmcoachworks.com/jpm/

i think the bmw performance wheel is still the best option, but i was considering this as a possibility for a dct shift boot.

I'm rocking the alcantara performance wheel and performance race seats and I'm doing my headliner in alcantara.

would there be any interest in a group buy?
this would not be for the original steering wheel
this would be to wrap a BMW wheel in Alcantara
I emailed JPM coachworks
I have dealt with them previously when I ordered some Alcantara samples
the BMW performance steering wheels, gear knobs etc use Charcoal (9002)
so that's what I would recommend, but if you want red Alcantara its doable.

the cool thing is they can do the steering wheels with the stripe on top (like the original PSW) and they can do different colour stitching
so you can get red stitching to match your Melbourne red
I also asked them if they could replicate the M 3 colour stitching

I already bought a sports steering wheel from e90post than I am thinking of re-wrapping in Alcantara

the prices they have on the website are between 350-450
plus the price of a used steering wheel
the sports steering wheel can be bought for about $100 on e90post
so say around $500 for the whole thing
not too bad considering the original GTS steering wheel sells for $1600 at IND

just heard back from them
as long as we all use the same steering wheel, we qualify for the group buy
we can choose different colour Alcantara and stitching
they can do coloured stitching or M 3 colour stitching, no difference in price
price is $495 per wheel

if we get more than 5 people they'll knock 15% off the price and include free shipping
so that's around $420 shipped
i can also announce this on E90post, we can get a lot more people that way
what i might do is to send them my steering wheel to get wrapped
and then show picture for you all to see

Does the $495 include the wheel? I thought the site said it was $350-450 for a wrap?

Can they cover the DCT boot? I don't think the boot comes off the knob.

495 is just for the wrap
They said its 395 or 495
Depends on if the steering wheel has an extra layer of padding or not
So I will probably send then my sport steering wheel and see what they say
I know they do gear knob boots
But not sure about the dct one
I have 6mt

Actually, I don't like the performance wheel. It feels nice but it is actually hard and uncomfortable if you drive with your hands at 9 and 3 and go on long trips over 30 minutes.

For the track, not liking the flat bottom either.

Thanks for the input man. But I would say cobywheel.con does the same with much more reasonable price.

Do we have some pictures? I'll be interested in the lining. For the moment never had a chance to see a good thread regarding that part.

JPM does great work so this is definitely promising.

I'd like to see pictures too. Find it ridiculous that a 70k car doesn't already have this trim.
