I haven't decided if I'm going to stay Tuesday night after the trackday but contemplating it b/c its about 4 1/2hr drive to my front door w/out stops/traffic

I'm going to look into what other options are available in the area @least for the first night

$309 is pretty steep for a hotel somewhat in the middle of no where.

Stalker - its in the Finger Lakes - pretty popular getaway in the summer, long weekends are going to be more expensive

One of the other options for the Sunday night is to get a room in Seneca Falls which is only about 45 minutes away.We used to do that when we would go down for the big weekends.Are we sure about the $309 for the Sunday night?

I'm going by what they told me over the phone, the person who handles group rates gave me a call b/c when I called originally they didn't have the actual rate for the Phoenix Group in their system, when she said $309 I was a bit shocked b/c I thought it was a group rate then she explained the holiday weekend thing...I just mailed out my reg. form so I haven't gotten an info packet/email from Joe so maybe someone who has received it can double check-maybe there is a secret handshake or something

Holy shit, $309!!!! Wonder if Joe knows about this. No issues with the August weekend thankfully, rates were 139 for both Sunday & Monday nights.

You should get an email back. I didn't fill out the same forms since I will be instructing. I did get an email confirmation and they mailed me a receipt for the amount they charged my card for the dinner.

Much shorter drive and will be a great track. I still want to get out to VIR one of these days though.

Gonna be fun....despite the ugly wheels I'll be bringing to the table LOL. I think we need more people though. There's got to be more from the GTA/Golden Horseshoe area - and Western NY -that can come out.

For alot of guys, the track means wear/tear, dirt, dust, etc, etc, etc. But honestly, if I can get over it, anyone can LOL.

Really looking forward to it!!!!! Just 3 months to go.

Joe gave me a call this morning regarding my group placement & I asked him regarding the hotel ect. He told me he's staying at the Seneca "Rustic" & has been staying there for years & that in August he'll probably stay at the Harbor b/c the rates will be better.

just to make sure is this the place? (i know some of you have attended this t.d. before, maybe you've stayed here)

That's too bad that the "H.Q." is not at the Seneca Lodge, it's a wonderful place - just like something from the 40's or 50's in our Muskoka area. Oh well. Still gonna be a fantastic time and we'll just have to put up with the hustle and bustle of the big downtown Watkins Glen scene LOL.

Joe still uses snail mail to send out the confirmations.Mine arrived about a week after the charge appeared on my card.
