The sig is from a conversation had with a wise old man upon graduation regarding career and life in general. Yes, it can be interpreted in a purely vehicular sense, and for that I apologize- that is not the message I wish to send. funny how it takes a fresh set of eyes to make you realize that.

I met him at one of the ACM photoshoots. What stood out most was that he was very friendly. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

ouch bad news. Beautiful car. I saw a white E90 M3 just like this one around Rt3 about a month ago. Had the splitters and everything. Car came up from behind me and we gave a wave. He was cruising with a blue E90 M3 also. Wonder if it was him.

The media has a funny way of twisting reality.

At the end of the day, I lost one of my best friends and partners and it's deeply saddening. I appreciate all the love from everyone.

It's been a rough couple days, but we're getting thru it.

Hang in there buddy. Friends are always going to be there for support and love and you can accredit yourself for that. You built a great ACM family through strong friendship. Love ya man, see you soon

I agree with both sides of the fence here. I feel sorry for Sal, the business, and the family the deceased left behind. I do not feel sorry for anyone who feels sorry for the situation.

If this had happened to someone that NOBODY knew, everyone would be condoning the situation. Because regardless if you know the person, interacted with them at one point or just read a post here and there, their action was wreckless, especially coming from an ex-cop.

No, I dont know all the details of the situation. However, the point someone made about "Have you ever driven above the speed limit" or whatever does NOT count when theres another vehicle involved traveling at the same rate in a competitive fashion.

Anytime someone has tried to race me I say lets go to the track. I have nothing to prove on the street. I believe in controlled conditions. I guess thats what having the wisdom of 20 years of driving will do to you. Sure, I remember being full of piss and vinegar when I was younger. I did some stupid things, but you only need to learn once.

Situations like this are the ones you need to learn from, other peoples mistakes, not your own.

Im not looking for a debate or any hostility. I just think people need to take a step back and realize the severity of the situation.

Thank you.

Condolences to his family and his friends on these boards.....their grief is beyond our comprehension. BUT, PLEASE, no discussion, NO MENTION of anything along the lines of not judging or being roped into a race. People try to rope MANY of us into a race every day, and we say no. To do otherwise is foolish, selfish and no good. If the accident had involved killing one of YOUR (general you not referring to anyone specifically) FAMILY members who were not involved in the race, your opinion would be different.

I'm sorry to the forum, I don't mean to be nasty or mean, I feel for his family beyond what you know. I have had PERSONAL experience with this, as recently as a month ago (feel free to PM me for details, occurred in NYC BQE approaching the Verrazano), and another occasion, my friend had his hockey playing career taken away by such an accident, when he was not the one IN THE RACE.

Cheers,
e46e92

I agree that the media twists the story to meet their needs. When I first saw the story about "street racing" and "well in excess of 100 MPH" it seemed a clear cut case of negligent actions.

The latest report stated "approaching 100 MPH". How is that "well in excess of 100 MPH"? Traffic in the SF Bay routinely "approaches 100 MPH". Anyone driving much slower is a dangerous obstacle to those following "the flow of traffic".

I will refrain from making judgements here. It is clear that only those involved know the true events. It is a tragedy to lose someone at such a young age, even more so for those left behind. RIP

I just hope that this sort of story motivates those who would street race to take it to a track. Risking your own life is already too much. Those you leave behind pay the price. Risking the lives of innocent people in your path is inexcusable.
