Stupid front plate...

Yet another downside about moving here...front plate requirement in this state. (Registered the car & installed tow-hook plate today.)

The accident back in September
The hit & run back in December
The hit & run back in July

I haven't claimed my windshield & hood yet since the same rock chipped my hood and windshield.

A lot of stress comes from being a first time homeowner. I learned about bad property tax is. It's the same as my insurance. Home maintenance takes a toll. Trying to do everything right cause I never liked how my dad took forever doing stuff at his house.

Everyone I meet assumes I'm a drug dealer cause of my car & age. Which adds stress, but luckily I've only been pulled over twice in my M3 vs 8 times in a month a half with my old 335i.

Renewed my insurance/tags.
Last year with my 15% discount it was 5,555.65CAD/year for pleasure use

This year it's 4,879.00CAD/Year (20% discount) for pleasure use, but once I get a job, and I take this car to work I'd have to switch my insurance over to work, and cost will depend if work is under 15km or over 15km

If it's under 15km then my insurance is $5,045.00 or so, and over 15km it's $5.3k

And yes, I have 0 at fault accidents, 0 tickets.

Almost coming up to a year of ownership since I got my M3 also, bought the car with 86,900 KM, now it has 122,000 KM

Plans for this year (Sept 2018 to Sept 2019)
- brakes + rotors
- Save up hella money
- Take care of all aesthetic defects
- New rims(want to do an aggressive setup)
- Suspension (????)
- Wrap (????)
- Exterior Aesthetics (????)
- Tune (????)

(???? = depends on how I feel about doing everything)

But I gotta remind myself, I have this car for the long run. I can do everything slowly overtime. I'm an adult now and gotta be responsible.

If you read all this you're an absolute madlad & a legend
$5000 for insurance?!?

I'm sitting at $500/year for my M3.

Touche. I was definitely not going for subtle. After a lifetime of gray, black and white cars - figured i'd live a little.

Today, I completed a sweet stealth radar detector setup. It looks amazing, hardwires into the overhead compartment of my E93 and has braided wires. It ran under my mirror on a mirror mount. After admiring how great of a job I did not blowing any fuses and not ruining my new (to me) car, I noticed the rear view mirror needed adjusting....So i did just that. It was okay...but really I could use a full view of traffic behind me, right? So I adjust further...then my mirror pops off...
I think "okay, ill just pop it back on!"
....I try.... and hear a crack...
"Okay, now I need a new mirror I" think to myself...but this warrants further investigation. So I try again....
"Crackkkk"
....There goes my windshield. Damn. Guess its off to Safelite ASAP.

So....never again will I mirror mount on a rain sensing type mirror. Expensive lesson.

You’re suppose to let it sit in direct sun outside so the pores can open

Is it the sunlight itself or the heat as well as the trapped humidity by having the windows closed?

Yes, but how hot will it get inside a garage vs outside in the sun? It might work, I’ve read for best results to have the car in the hottest environment possible

I just copied what my dad has for insurance on his car

Comprehensive - $300 deductible
Collision - $300 deductible
Liability - 2mill coverage

A factor that plays into our insurance is that, it's basically government owned. Private market. Just in the past year they stopped insuring cars worth more than 150kCAD, and you'd have to go through another insurance policy like through your house insurance.

Things that play into pricing:

- How long you've had your license
- Tickets
- Accidents
- Where you live in BC
Check out BCAA, I pay $2k a year for my m3
Its so much cheaper than ICBC. Rate depends on vehicles, my other car is cheaper with ICBC alone so no BCAA for that.
With ICBC, my m3 rate is close to 3k

Something doesn’t seem right. How much discount do you have with icbc? You have your class 5 license?

I’m only paying $2300/year on the M3 and I have :
Pleasure use.
Comprehensive - $300 deductible
Collision - $300 deductible
Liability - 5mill coverage

$5000 is more than how much I pay a year for all 3 of my cars.

Also you’re only required to get basic coverage through icbc. All the optional/add-on coverages can be purchased through a 3rd party, like BCAA, as yette mentioned. Similar to icbc won’t cover any cars worth over $150k. What it actually meant is icbc won’t sell you any of the optional coverages if your car is worth more than $150k. They will only provide you with the basic coverage.

It's a hit or miss from what I saw from the blower recall. With our dealership here in Melbourne, FL there isn't much M3's in the area, so they probably have them in stock than heavily popular cities

Yeah 20% is not much. The real saving is when you get the 10 year experience and roadstar discount. If you think you’re getting screwed now just wait until they introduce mobility pricing.
