Wow is all I can say about this new tool and new technology. I believe this will change the way most pro detailers and DIYers will prep their cars. This is truly a time saver and will pay for itself after a couple detail jobs. We have spent in some cases 1-2 hours claying and prepping a midsize sedan (in rough shape) we recently tested the AutoScrub on an Audi S8 and we were finished in about 15 minutes! A dual action orbital polisher is required. AutoScrub will safely and easily removes paint over spray, water spots, tree sap, rail dust and other bonded surface contaminants from the surface of automotive paint, glass, moldings and plastic.

AutoScrub works great with your favorite detail spray or clay lubricant. Unlike the clay bar, the AutoScrub can be cleaned by simply rinsing off the accumulated contaminates with water. If you drop the AutoScrub on the ground, no worries, just rinse the sponge pad clean and you're ready to keep using it.

AutoScrub allows for sturdy and controlled handling, unlike clay bars where constant reshaping is required.

Directions
1. Thoroughly wash vehicle free of dust, sand, and dirt.
2. Mist sufficient detail spray or clay lubricant onto the surface evenly.
3. Polish the surface with dual action orbital polisher using light pressure (Low Speed).
4. Wipe off residue and move on to compound and polishing or even go straight to your last step.

Important tips:
- Sufficient lubrication is crucial to the AUTOSCRUB application.
- DO NOT use water
- DO NOT use with rotary polisher.

I curious to give this a try, I have used clay for years and it is a serious commitment to clay a vehicle when done properly. The fact that I could use this on my random orbiter is very tempting! Besides the time savings, my elbows take a lot of strain with manual claying.

I don't think this will replace clay, I still plan to use it in areas I can't get to with the DA, but I am excited about my new strategy and time savings. It'll be a few weeks until I can do a spring detail on my 4-season DD M3 but I'll report back once I do!

Is the 3 inch pad version meant to be used by hand, while the 6 inch is for the dual action orbital?

correct you can use the 3 inch by hand or by machine with 3 inch backing plate.

I have read about this a lot and saw it and decided to try it at a local detail store here in So-Cal. It does work great, however it seems that polishing is a mandatory step after this clay application as it does mar the finish.

Bottom line, claying a whole car is time consuming. Quite frankly, I spend more time claying than anything else when detailing because I am OCD about getting all contaminates off of the surface. Anything that can be done to speed up the process is a good thing IMO.

Sounds good to me, I trust your judgement

Either way, I think that the smaller and more difficult to reach areas on the cars will still need either clay or the surface prep towel to get everything off. I will probably purchase both and find out for myself

It is best to "soak" the surface when using this? Phil, I met you at Eurofest I purchased this along with the griots machine I don't know if that rings a bell. I used it but it left a slight haze on the paint. I might have had the speed set too high on machine so I didn't use it. Should I soak the surface or the pad?

sure thing you should spray some on the pad then on the surface you are working on, not sure then spray more lube.

the machine should be on speed 1.
