Does anyone know or have tried and successfully eliminated the helper spring in the rear on a KW Clubsport setup? Does this particular shock have excessive droop that absolutely requires it?

Unless you've changed to different springs I think KW put it there for a reason. Otherwise why unnecessarily increase the cost of the product?

I bought a secondhand kit and while the shocks are in good condition the springs are nasty and rusty and I'd like to deviate a little from standard rates so I'll be replacing all of them. If I can get away with no helpers out back I will. In this instance it costs me less if I don't need them. The only thing they are doing is helping keep tension on the main spring so if I can buy a slightly longer spring or eliminate them altogether I will. Also considering the ground control articulating spring perch instead of the standard top adjuster.

just purchase the shorter eibach springs which will also remove the helper springs as well as raise the perch so that you can run 10" wide wheels up front without spacers.

Helper springs provide tension to keep the spring planted, they have nothing to do with ride height. Relocating the collar with new springs (either Eibach or Swift) is the way to go.

Just curious about the rear. I already have a plan for the fronts.

Bad idea. Seems that everybody here thinks you're talking about the front.

If you fully unload the rear divorced springs without helpers they could actually fall out. If the spring couldn't unseat without a helper spring then I don't think kw would've included helpers. The front is true coilover so the spring could never fall out.

Yeah, no way with the droop of the KW to get away from having a helper in the rear, at least with 800+ lb springs.

I switched the helpers from the front into the rear as they are softer and make it easier to do ride height changes.

Good to know. At this point I'll just plan to put helpers in the rear as well.
