FS: Stoptech ST60/ST40 BBK - Porsche “Speed Yellow” - E9X M3

For sale is a used Stoptech ST60/ST40 big brake kit for a E9X M3. I believe that I am the third owner (all bimmerpost forum members) of this kit. As soon as I bought the kit I sent the calipers out to have them professionally repainted by a shop in CA (can’t find the name, recommended by bimmerpost forum member) in the Porsche Speed Yellow color. I then had them coated with Ceramic Pro which has made clean up of brake dust so easy.

Prior to my ownership the kit had about 7K miles on them. I probably put another 1K or so on them including one BMW CCA High-Performance Driver Education (HPDE) event. I would remove them every winter to allow fitment of my 18 inch wheel with snow tires mounted. This got really old really fast and the kit has been sitting in my basement for a few years.

I can provide additional pictures and rotor thickness measurements for anyone interested.

Full disclosure: After the repaint there was some paint in areas that I had to remove to allow the bridges and pads to fit back in. This resulted in a few paint chips that I touched up.

Also, after the CCA HPDE I experienced a pulsation. The rotors were not warped, but despite my best efforts to not leave the brake applied I believe there was some “imprinting” or material transfer from the pads. This bothered me quite a bit so I found someone to turn the rotors for me. From what I remember this helped to reduce the pulsation. I also replaced the pads with street pads per the recommendation of Stoptech. There may still be some pulsation, but I’m fairly certain it was gone or barely noticeable.

This kit will include the old ceramic pads, Porsche Speed Yellow touch up paint, spare zip ties & washers, stainless mid lines, and printed installation instructions.
