Varis Undertray with modified Upper Diffuser

Hey everyone,

I searched a lot but didnt find the pictures that I'm looking for (stupid photobucket pics no longer work).

I currently have an ARKYM rep diffuser, but I just picked up a brand new Varis Undertray. From my understanding, the only way that I'll be able to use both is to modify my ARKYM by cutting off the middle fins or doing something similar to the Varis itself. Does anyone have a process and pics on how to do this properly without butchering the cf? Alternatively, has anyone figured out if there are other diffusers (non-Varis upper) that would fit without modification?

Also, what are your thoughts on mixing carbon fiber weaves? All of the cf accents on my car are 1x1 with the exception of the Varis which is 2x2.

Thanks for any help!

You can't cut CF without damaging it

I mean, since it won't fit anyways, I"d give it a shot to give it a trim. I'd cut the ARKYM for sure, not the VARIS, lol.

Worst case, doesn't fit anyways, and then you just order the VARIS Upper

Thats what I'm afraid of. Didnt know if there was a better/cleaner way than just using a dremel.

I'm hesitant to cut up my ARKYM... fear of screwing it up, plus it was expensive ha. We will see what I end up doing I guess!

You can cut CF without cracking it. I’ve done it several times for my other car. Best is to use air tool and cut off wheel. Don’t cut exactly where you mark it, leave a little wiggle room and hand sand it down to the marked line. Dremel will work too, I’ve used it to cut my CF hood for hood pins but it is hard to cut long straight line for your purpose.

If you’re worry I’d say go buy some cheap CF pieces off eBay to practice.

And use lots of masking tape so you don’t accidentally scratch the adjacent surface.

Reviving this thread to see if anyone else was successful in pairing other brand upper diffuser with the Varis lower diffuser.

you can cut CF, just have to apply tape on the cut line, and use an air powered jigsaw. i have done it many times, no problem.

The only upper diffusers that will fit with the varis undertray is varis and 3d design
