Your new door closed on the first try so your chassis is good. I think you're looking at a fairly easy fix here. Probably just suspension arms, I don't think the subframe is affected. I had a shunt hard enough to break my front right suspension arms and leave the front wheel hanging with the spindle, zero steering, and the subframe and rack were both fine. Our cars are built pretty tough. Good luck with the fix!

Thats good to know. I still have to do a some small adjustments. Will need another persons help for that. Ill wait till it warms up a bit. Window glass was included with door, which is fantastic. The interior was undamaged, so lucky there.

Hard to judge from the pictures I would say.

The rear subframe might haven taken most of the impact, together with the control arms (and unfortunately the diff may have taken a heavy hit as well).

What would make me lean towards a "rebuild" is the fact, that the rocker panel cover is intact as it seems - and not even popped off. Same with the airbag not having gone off and front/rear/side window being in place and not cracked.

At a very minimum I would try to get it onto a lift and maybe onto an alignment rack.

If that checks out, I personally would buy it back & either:

a) rebuild it as a cheap daily. You had done rod bearing and steering rack, . Get the Ohlins rebuild in the rear, new door, new quarter panel. One replacement wheel and a fresh set of tires + rear subframe and/or control arms. Half-axle and diff to be thoroughly checked and looked at. Maybe now that's a good reason to get a limited slip diff

b) part out yourself. The shell might even go for a few bucks if not tweaked to heavily (ideal to section the right quarter onto a wagon, some people might even take the frame rails to put them onto a front colission etc.), so will a lot of the M-specific parts. Steering rack, engine (you know what has been done and when, can mostlikely proof it and have these pictures here as evidence, why you are selling), transmission, front fenders - this should all sell rather quick I would say.

Basically I would assume, it comes down to how much emotional and sentimental attachment you have to this car.

And: looking at what magic some people on YouTube can do, this really doesn't look too bad. Yes, I know: a lot of that is half-arsed, a lot of it is improper - but those videos also show, how much a car built during the last 15-20 years actually is able to absorb in forces from a crash.
Do you have any suggestions on where to get a LSD and what ratio to go with??? Also any ideas on prices? Feel free to PM me.

Mirror arrived and is installed. Complete rear end with all components will be installed later. Also got a refinished wheel and swapped the tire.

Will add more pics soon.

I am glad it is in good shape. I would buy and fix it. Nothing seems like wrong in chassis in these pics which is the most important part. Door and rear panel. You can buy a same color used m3 door and put it not even need a fix. Rear panel can be done with a PDR. Just bring to a Mechanic so they can confirm nothing wrong in the axels and arms. Thats pretty much it.

( I just saw the Youtube Video. Congrats! on both saving the s65 and getting the M6 )

Haha thanks. I ended up reprograming the modules with ISTA+. I will say that it wasn't needed though. Everything worked okay. I installed reset the window antitrap with nust holding the switch for 29 seconds etc... the rear end went well. Worst part was the ebrake cables. Had to remove several things in the back seat and lift the center console.

I just checked evewith ista after and followed all the replacement steps.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement on this. It was a first for me. M3post's guides, DIYs, torque spec threads all played a pivotal role in my ability to accomplish this much. There is still some light dent work and paint work to do. That will be outsourced to a shop.

Also, I found all the parts on ebay from AZcycle parts. Check them out. They had several items for various cars, even Ferraris etc... was surprised by that.

Ill continue to update as progress continues.

An update for the e92 M3. I repaired it and did the mechanical. Sold now to family member and was repainted from Jerez Black Metallic to Nardo Grey. The F13 M6 in the images was my replacement. Might even buy the car back some day.

Nice. ~$8k sounds like a steal for the buyback. Looks great in Nardo. F13 M6 looks great. I’d have a tough time selling my e92 M3s to a family member because I’d want to drive it every time I saw it and would definitely buy it back if the opportunity comes up. I suppose it’s better to sell to a family member instead of a stranger and never see it again.

This is true. It is great to see the car on occassion. Purchasing it again is an option too. The family member and I may do a build later also.
