e90 final build day and vin?

I have been searching here, yahoo and other forums. I have found great information on build statistics as well as a great article on the final e9x build rolling off the line. But what I am not able to find just yet is something that shows a more descriptive final build date for the e90. I know it was 10/11, however, does anyone know if the final day was that friday the 28th or the Monday 31st...or EOW in Nov? I am also curious if anyone knows a VIN of the final e90.

I ask because it doesn't seem readily available and I own an e90 that has a production date of 10/28/2011 so just curious where I stand.

Sorry if the pros show how easy this info is to find via search...I normally do well with searching first but this one seems tricky thus far.
Thanks

That's definitely a very late build date. I don't believe the VINs are sequential so you can't just look at the last digits to find out where yours fits in.

You could try calling BMW NA and asking them. I know that Audi is pretty good about sharing production numbers and such -- perhaps BMW is too.

The VIN numbers are sequential. The last 7 are your key, and you can figure it out by using a site like the BMW Archive VIN Decoder

The VIN numbers are only sequential in relation to the date that the car is actually assigned to each VIN number. The BUILD date can then vary and may not be in sequence.

I own a car that was delayed going into production so there are some cars with greater VIN numbers that got built before mine, if that makes sense

This can occur when something holds up production of a car after the VIN is assigned like an individual order. (no idea how common this is?)

So there may well be a car that was built after yours with a smaller number due to some type of delay.

The VIN decoding stuff is nothing new. I wasn't aware they are sequential; what I meant to say was that while there is a range of numbers for E90s, the way they are assigned does not necessarily correspond to when it rolled out of the factory. This has to do with the ordering and build process.

I've decoded the vin which is some good info.

Still I can't find where anything states the last day of actual builds. It's just a curiosity. I am not playing a lottery hoping I have the last one or anything silly.

Seriously, call BMW NA and ask them.

This would be a cool piece of information to have. I wonder who got the last e90.

According to that decoder my production was in Sept of 2011, but it was initially delivered in late November.

I sent them the request, and below is the response. Back to the drawing board I guess...

Had a few minutes to mess around. For fun, playing off the fact that folks say the VIN is sequential, I decided to try different VINs on the bmwvin website. Mine ends in 193. There is an e90 that ends in 194. The next set through to 201 error out, so the dont exit. Not conclusive that 194 is the last one, or I am next to last, but its interesting to me.

Oh man. What if you had the second to last one?

That's like winning a silver medal. People are interested, but you're always gonna be upstaged by gold.

Haha true. I dont expect such a thing carries any additional value or anything. This simply started out of curiosity. Its funny BMW says they wont share such info...not sure how one could rule the world knowing this info from them lol.
