WOW this is one sexy car!

Carbuzz also mentions today that they will be offering it in a 5 liter V8 with up to 540 HP.

This car is so beautiful.

The convertible is expected to be priced around 85k so the coupe should be about 5 to 8 k less would be my guess.

"The new Jaguar F-Type Roadster will be powered by a 3.0-liter V6 engine that delivers a total of 250 HP in the normally aspirated version and 375 HP in the supercharged R version. Jaguar has also confirmed that the future F-Type two-seater convertible will be priced under the current XK, or at about $85,000. That would mean the F-Type Coupe would have a similar if not identical engine lineup and will also be in the same price bracket, possibly with a few thousand dollars knocked off."

If this performs anywhere close to an M3, I'll have to seriously consider it....

if you want to spend $85k on something that performs like a $65k M3 (forget the fact that mine was $55k out the door), why not buy an Aston Vantage?

Similar size, looks, heritage and better cachet. But not a better car...

Jesus, my E92 was $70K and that is relatively low compared to the others I've seen and also compared to the E93. Love the looks of the Vantage, but would only consider the V10 and that is out of my price range. Looks wise, this F-Type has it. If Jag can stuff the 540-HP V8 in the Coupe and keep it at $80K, handles like an M3, it's enticing to me.

Yes I know, a lot of other choices for $80K. Isn't car buying great??

Edit: Looks a lot like a smaller Maserati GranTurismo Coupe

I think it is a fantastic looking car. The back seems a tad too short. But nevertheless, fantastic looking car. Maybe the "F" in the model name stands for fantastic?

For the money though, Aston V8 Vantage is a better looking car. It won't get out dated, whereas this Jag seems to have too aggressive lines which may not age well.

I wouldn't count on it being under $80k with the big V8. I'd bet money it will be over $90. Great looking car though - I've always been a big fan of Jags. They've never been reliable or performance leaders, but damn do they look good (except for the new XJ and all of the smaller sedans).

Both cars were designed by Ian Callum

I think I read recently that Jag now ranks higher than BMW in reliability. Still worried?

With 540 HP, this car should outperform the M3 and the V8 Vantage. That's not a valid comparison IMO. This car looks great and I am pretty excited about it.
