BMWs per 1000 people:

USA: 1.2
Germany: 3.3
UK: 3.2
Japan: 0.5

BMWs per Square Kilometre:

USA: 0.04
Germany: 0.77
UK: 0.85
Japan: 0.17

So here in the UK, where BMW's seem pretty common, they are (as a very broad average) 20 times more densely packed!
Those stats are misleading: The US has more people and square footage than any of those other countries... If you threw in China, they'd be even less than the U.S., huh?

No they're not, they show how likely it is to come across a bmw on the road.
That europe outsells the US about 2:1 in cars has already been established.
In the US there are about as many bmw;s sold as in Germany and the UK toghether.
However the cars sold in the US are probably higher specced, so revenue wise it may be a little bit different (and China will probably peak at this figure as that's probably where the majority of the cars is in the upper market)

Err, yes I realise that... but they are not misleading...

There are more BMW's per person here...

... and you wouldn't have to go as far to see one...

How is that misleading?

Now that 3.0 csl I like. Make 750 of those and see how much faster they sell. Nice.
