License plate said "trypasn"

Talk about waving a red flag in the bulls face. This was the license plate on the V6 Mustang, probably about a 2012 or 2013. Is that kind of a bold license plate for that type of car? Would you have done something to "embarrass "them?

I'm sure that car gets messed with on the regular.

Could have been a sleeper though, there is a "V6" Chassis base model Mustang locally that has a Ford Racing engine with a supercharger in it. Old guys brings it to coffee and cars all the time.

It was a she. And I don't think it was any kind of a sleeper, looks totally stock, with the skinnier tires and all.

I did not race her. But if I had, I would've put my car in neutral and revved the engine a little bit, and when the light turned red I would but I'm sport mode and going all out. But not in launch mode. My car has too many miles for me to want to blow anything by using launch mode.

I once considered a personalized plate, but decided against it because a member of the Uptight Citizens' Brigade is more likely to remember it, compared to random characters, when calling the cops to complain about the speeding BMW.

My favorite personalized plate story comes from the Sacramento newspaper, where a columnist wrote about a California plate that said "TP U BG."

The person who noticed it was a court reporter, who said the letters translated to a phonetic spelling, "F U K," in the shorthand they use when transcribing hearings. The owner of the car received notice from DMV that they were going to try to take her plate away for being offensive.

She claimed it was a phrase from the kids' book, "The Little Engine that Could," where the locomotive chanted "if you can" to itself while climbing a hill. Apparently "TP U BG" can also be used to mean that.

DMV didn't believe her, so she was TPUBG'ed out of her license plate. Now California DMV runs applications for personalized plates through a number of filters, including Sanskrit, Klingon and (now) court reporter shorthand. Some of their decisions are very odd, like rejecting WINEBOX because "box can be slang for vagina," and BROCOLI because it's "slang for weed."

Last truck I had said "spoold".... it was 1600hp and ran about 90psi of boost.

Needless to say after I embarrassed a Ferrari 612 that was throttling at a light, from a dig to 150 with his wife laughing her ass off while I was watching them in the rear view it highlighted to me custom plates can be too tempting for some.

I would be tempted to fly by him but anybody who puts that plate on a V6 Mustang is clearly always looking to prove themselves, meaning they'd start trying to race and that's not something I'd like to engage in on public roads.

Don't underestimate an ecoboost V6 though. Hennessey has some topping at 206mph.

Agreed with the majority of the comments above. Side story, I used to work with a portly girl that had more confidence than she should have She thought she was something. Her late model S-10 that was decked out with every piece of Auto-Zone add-ons had U NV IT on her tag. Hilarious!

If I had raced the mustang (hypothetically), which was clearly not modded, because she took the same exit I did and ended up at the same red light as me, on a very deserted stretch of frontage road, I would have put the car in every sport mode, turned off the traction control, and floored it. She would not have responded. I would have felt great disappointment in not showing up a person with such a dumb plate, who would not back it up.

There's a Grand Cherokee SRT in my town with "HYBRID" as the plate. Still makes me laugh every time I see it. He had to be VERY early to get (and keep) that plate.
