I'm no expert here as I've never bothered to look - but if ZCPs are going for 2k, I highly doubt you can sell the stock 18's for 2k. If someone has a recent example otherwise, please enlighten me. Here's how i look at it: ZCP (2500) = ZCP Wheels (??) + EDC (1000) + 10mm drop (no hard value associated) That means so long as a person selling their wheels gets more than 1500 dollars for them.. they MADE money in theory. - esquire

I think I messed up the math, think with zcp you are down 3400 and with just EDC you are down 2000. After selling wheels and tires and buying new wheels and tired for $3k in my example. So $1400 is the price you are paying for lowered suspension an slightly altered EDC and MDM if you sell the 359 wheels.
Not to mention 359 wheels look like stupid antler snowflakes!!!

Don't buy any oem wheel option.
Keep 18s. Buy OEM style 359 wheels from vendor. Have road wheels(359) and track wheels (18s w/ R compound?), without breaking your back when you run erands.

My point was that not everybody has the money to mod right away (..if at all), but they may prefer the look of the ZCP wheels. The fact that you can recoup most of the cost of the package when selling the wheels is just a plus. Sure, you will have to purchase aftermarket wheels, but you would have to do that regardless. OEM 18's are not in demand like the 359's (..or the 220's to a lesser degree), and IMO, they don't look nearly as good. Modding is a money pit anyway! You will always lose money. |

It makes no fiscal sense to spend money on a package that you are going to gut (selling the wheels or not) later on. What PKL said makes sense. Sure, the 18's probably don't sell for as much as the ZCP wheels, but since you didn't spend the extra money for them on the package, you actually MAKE money by selling the OEM 18's, I think that's what he was trying to say. So then you have the money you didn't spend on ZCP plus the money you made selling the OEM 18's to spend on whatever aftermarket mods you want.

I really love Top Gear, but it is a bit of a goof when Jeremy is dumbfounded by a bit of tech.
Jeremy Clarkson is an old fart who I think is hilariously entertaining. Give him buttons and he's pissed off. Have a navi voice speak, and he's actually going to argue with it! What's brilliant about the current M3 is its myriad of options to take on the character you want. ZCP is what it is and offers a functional option to performance drivers who like to track (or who need the additional control when chasing down bad guys.) Jeremy likes it simple and dummy-proof... Jeremy-proof. I'd really like to see him drive the 1M. I'd bet he'd like it, if he can fit in it!

Jeremy loves the 135i, so I'm certain he will think the 1M is epic.
ZCP wheels are amazing, so if I had gotten new I would've opted for it
