Sick! I called this too. Others said it would be called the M2 Racing, but I think it's cool that they chose to stick with the M Performance model naming convention again. Gives it more of an "attainable" club racer theme instead of a halo racing car name e.g. M8 GTE, M6 GT3, etc.

I want one!

From the description given, I'm guessing still a modified N55, but would be pleasantly surprised if it ends up being a B58 derivative. Will these be raced against existing m235iR next season, I wonder?

Huh? It's a race car. Wheel poke on closed wheel racer = shit aerodynamic performance. Look at how tucked all the GTLM/GTE cars' wheels are inside the fender.

Some of you wheel stance guys kill me... SMH.

Why isn't this the m2? That's already a wide body 3 series and the m brand was made to offer a Motorsport platform. I really don't get bmw branding and marketing these days. Feeling like they are losing the whole point.

Well.
Apart of the name, this is a M235i racing with a evolution package.
Meaning N55 with engine tune to output 340hp (same as M240i) lights and extra lights!
I would really like bmw to be a bit more audacious and proof the B58 though...

Cheers mates.

Here a few shots of the 235iR:

If you look closely, it seems to have the M3/M4 aluminum strut brace.
