Another Chinese-market Special Edition: M3 Matte Edition

The Chinese have previously seen a special edition M3 exclusive to their market - in the form of the M3 Tiger Edition. Apparently demand was good enough to warrant yet another special edition - the M3 Matte Edition

Like most of the other special M3 edition models, this one is cosmetics only - concentrating on the exterior color finish. The exterior will be offered in gunmetal gray or black, each in a metallic matte finish (achieved by combining a metallic finish with a matte clear coat). The other unique cosmetic styling bits include black chrome side M gills and exhaust pipes, and red brake calipers. A BMW Performance shift knob is also included.

Interior styling includes carbon fiber trim with matching black carbon fiber leather seats with contrasting red seams on seat edges and door armrests. Unfortunately there's no photos available of the seats yet. Source: [Carscoop]

Its an artistic rendering, it appears to me or a highly computer aided picture so its really hard to actually judge what that looks like.

By "carbon fiber leather seats" I'm assuming they mean the carbon fiber patterned leather seats vs real carbon fiber seats, right?

So it's a Frozen Gray or Frozen Black exterior with the interior and brake calipers from the special edition M3 sold in Netherlands. Interior trim sounds like CF leather to me, not real CF.

Agreed, the gear knob is the bmw performance one with no EDC/POWER/DSC buttons on the side...
