Anyone have issues passing PA emissions testing with test pipes and a Tune.

Not after the TTFS tune. Just passed inspection at my local dealer last month. All readiness sensors good.

after getting a tune with a tp, do you have to drive a certain number of miles before going to get the inspection?

That link would be correct. No you do not have to wait a certain amount of miles.

I see this option on their website: Rear O2 Off no Check Eng Light: Off Road Only *

I'm no expert, but wouldn't that show up as not ready? Do you know what the tune is actually doing?

I can't really answer that. I dealt with Frank and his guys in person. Their web site is pretty new, looks different from what it used to.

I'm going to assume that in order for all my sensors to be in a readiness state that he simply backs off the sensitivity on them. You're right to say that if they're turned off that they won't show ready and will fail OBDII inspection.

Good to know, I just tried to get my car inspected and they told me the system is not ready, and said I probably needed more miles, Had Frank do my tune and within a couple hundred miles I tried to get it inspected.
I will try some miles and go back for inspection.
mills 84 how long did you have the tune before you got it inspected?
Thanks mills84

All 02 sensors have to be "on" to achieve readiness. If you have a tune that has any turned off to block the check engine light it will not achieve readiness on all sensors. Don't waste your time. Also, there is a drive cycle you need to follow to make the car achieve readiness. Its a pain...i just did it and passed but you will need your OEM pipe and the tuner will need to give you a special tune with all 02 sensors on or install the stock tune. Not all tuners have this "emissions" tune.

Below is the drive cycle, you don't need to do it in order and the main one is number 3...once you get them to go ready they mostly all will.

An example of a drive cycle is as follows:
1. Engine cold start, idling, approximately 3 minutes.

Evaluated:

• Secondary Air System
• Evaporative Leak Detection (LDP Equipped Vehicles)

2. Constant driving at 20 to 30 MPH, approximately 4 minutes.

Evaluated:

• Oxygen Sensors - Achieved “Closed Loop” Operation
• Oxygen Sensors - Response Time and Switching Time (Control Frequency)

3. Constant driving at 40 to 60 MPH, approximately 15 minutes (sufficient vehicle coasting phases included).

Evaluated:

• Catalytic Converter Efficiency
• Oxygen Sensors - Response Time and Switching Time (Control Frequency)

4. Engine idling, approximately 5 minutes.

Evaluated:
Tank-Leak Diagnosis (DMTL Equipped Vehicles after KL 15 is switched OFF) US Spec M3's are DMTL Equipped and KL15 means ignition on.

Now the reason of why some cars take MUCH longer than others to throw the error light - Driving Style!

The diagnostic sequence illustrated above will be interrupted if:
• The engine speed exceeds 3000 RPM.
• Large fluctuations in the accelerator pedal position.
• The driving speed exceeds 60 MPH.
