I'm thinking of buying new too… They cost $1065 and offer a refund of $325 if you send them your original one, so $740 total, but still pricey.

Hey when ordered yours… Did you get the "Euro" version or the "Export" version?

Btw I PM'd you, but your inbox is full.

I think 1065$ is the price including the core refund. It is listed for that price on the main BMW page of the CarboProject website, but, when you click on the link that brings you to the description, it is listed at 1387$. That is the price without refund I believe.

I think the core refund is available only to european customers anyway. Sending your plenum to Germany is too expensive and would basically cancel out the refund. For us North Americans, the real price is 1387$ plus shipping and taxes depending on where you live.

I bought my plenum through a social buying community for M owners. They have the best price and they only sell the export version. Look it up.

Here are screenshots of both options (sending in your own or not)… $1064 vs $1387

Although makes sense about the $1064 price being after the refund.

Also, fair point about shipping cost to ship to Europe… although, I wonder what the slowest possible shipping cost would actually be, I can't imagine it being $325.

Either way, the buying community sounds interesting, I'll check it out in the meantime.

I guess the price has gone up since the last time I checked. Just fyi, the prices from the community are not meant to be shared at large. Only members are allowed to view pricing.

When I bought mine, I could not believe how expensive it was to ship my plenum to Germany. There would have been nothing left from the refund in my case.

Ah okay, I'll respect the private pricing (I deleted the screenshot I posted).

And ya sux about the shipping costs to Europe. Which shipping company did you get quotes from?

I got quotes from UPS, Fedex and Canada Post. In the end, I figured it was not worth the trouble and decided to buy from the community and keep my plenum, just in case something went wrong with the Carbo. You also have the option of putting the stock plenum back on if you sell your car and get most of your money back by selling the cf one.

At first, I was disappointed that I couldn't take advantage of the core refund and that it made the purchase a bit more expensive than I initially thought, but it was worth it. I simply love my plenum. What's nice with Carbo is that you have choices too. Matte or gloss finish(I went with matte), BMW M POWER stickers or M V8 badges or both or plain if you want. The only difference from when I bought mine in May is that they don't offer the option of OE screws on top anymore. It's flat top only as of this summer.
